Wut? So what were you saying 'knocking someone out is not reasonable force' to? Where the poster said he hit the guy once and knocked him out while his car was being keyed?
If not that then perhaps you meant if someone accidentally spills your drink - you're quite right! But by god man, stay on topic.
edit: oh hang on, almost forgot:![]()
nope, keep reading.......
If he turns out to be highly educated, have a good career, nice house, beautiful wife etc, and not in fact be a dole scrounger that's really going to wind some people up here...

Nah that is the ideal scenario, he'll then have to pay for the damage. If he was an unemployed person he'd claim poverty and be ordered to pay 50p a week towards some token fine...
Allowed? Who the hell in this world has the authority to tell us that we are not allowed.
Risking prosecution from the police is not the same as not being allowed.![]()
But you wouldn't, since your are in the UK, you would be the one getting arrested.
Knocking someone out is not reasonable force.
Thought property=home, not a car, and remember they are not trying to steal it or break in, but just messing up the paintwork.
You're trying too hard to be obtuse.
You said you'd go to jail if you knocked someone out for defending your person or property. Whether we're talking about a real event or hypothetical is irrelevant and what I said stands. Did you disagree with what I said?
Too judgemental on appearances. I know a couple of people with fortunes of 7 digits and they dress quite relaxed all the time. Almost scruffy looking you could say.
very true. My mate Gordon is a prime example.. Hes pretty high up in the oil business ( not sure of his exact title tbh ) he has a new R50 touareg and his misses has an Alpina D3 yet Gordon will be seen pretty regularly wandering about in an old pair of jeans and a t shirt and driving his old E30 325i touring.
if there going anywhere into the city center shopping or going to get the train its the old E30 that gets used.
9 out of 10 times that's the car you'll see him or his misses driving.
In response to someone saying if they had their car keyed they would knock the person out.
Someone then mentioned reasonable force.
then you went on about how hard it is to knock someone out and referencing a much earlier post by someone else, so I prompted you to read it all.
You really like to embellish, don't you.
Where did jail come from? It's not Monopoly being arrested does not mean go directly to jail![]()
I think people that key cars should be rounded up beaten to death with lump hammers.
This may or may not have anything to do with the £500 I forked out last week to have my Mondeos roof repaired because we foolishly took a car less than 30 years old into queensgate car park in Peterborough.
should have bought a new one !![]()
