Another Job Centre Plus, sanctioning rant!

Lmao love how accurate this was.

Not hard to predict though is it?

So many people on here think the system is out to get them. Then you find out they have made bad life choices, want that dream job or one that is 3 days a week with 30+ holidays, or bad with savings, or have no qualifications and so on...

Want something in life go get it. Don't moan on a computer forum that the world is out to get you.

At least you know where you stand with us 3.

I feel for the bloke and his situation. It must be horrific. But moaning on a computer forum doesn't change anything. Alright he has got some charity and some dollar which is great and hats off to those who are sending him money. But it seems like he is a regular at this. What's it teaching him? Sob story in GC and he gets free money?

I offered to help him with his CV but that is yet to materialise. Probably writing it now..

So why wouldn't you save just incase you fall on hard times? To prevent you having to rely on JSA. Especially as everything thinks they are so 'incompetent'.

Who's to say he didn't save, then his fridge, washing machine and oven all died (these things always happen in threes) and had to buy replacements?

You're beng awfuly judgmental and making assumptions - what's wrong with just taking the chap at face value?

Tbf Dowie has a very valid point regarding the 970.

A valid point if you like being a **** and kicking people when they're down.

He is - point is it is probably useful to have a small reserve if you're going to be reliant on the state... since apparently everyone knows that JSA advisors just sanction people for fun. Given that I'd feel much better with a buffer of a few hundred than a new graphics card for example.

Sorry if facts get in the way of a good rant.

Why haven't you advised the OP to take up matched betting - 2k a month you're making there no?

Typical OCUK GD discussion. I hope some of you never fall on hard times. Others, I hope you end up homeless because you're too proud/ignorant/pig-headed to ask for help, which, you may or may not have noticed, the OP never did.

I don't think he's got the bank roll to do that and he probably hasn't got the time due to having to look after his kids.

Vidar, can't you find a before/after school club or childminder to look after the children on those Mon mornings Fri afternoons, then at least that's removing the restriction from a standard M - F 9 - 5 job

I am actively getting out there and am not just looking for security work but anything I can reasonably do but it does seem like trying to ice skate up a hill. I will however get my CV up on here for people to see and help with later on.

Yeah the funny thing is they don't tell you they won't pay for the first 2 weeks regardless and it took a few days to get sorted so I was expecting my payment yesterday. It didn't get sent because they suspended my claim. For missing the appointment I did actually have on Tuesday.

If you're directly referring to me, with all due respect every appointment I know about I turn up for and the job centre now require you turn up to various things almost weekly that are not your regular signing up appointment. The first appointment I missed I wasn't informed about yet they claim during my signing up appointment I was handed a letter. I wasn't as I'm pretty astute with paperwork.

The second appointment again was not a regular signing on appointment but ironically enough a compliance interview, which I was told had been rearranged for Wednesday anyway which I did go to only to be signed on as normal and told I hadn't missed anything when I said I was worried.

If you are anywhere near the Centre of Liverpool try get an appointment with search consultancy or Jobwise they are the only two recruitment agencies I have experience with in Liverpool but I can highly recommend them they should be able to find you a simple admin role somewhere in Liverpool maybe something better if your lucky!

He's unemployed and you assume he hasn't got the time

He's looking for jobs and looking after children - that's plenty time consuming.

What is your problem?

Forget it - you're on my ignore list - you're just being an antoagonistic ****.

How many of those are long term contracts
How many are zero hour
How many are minimum wage

My guesstimate would be 90%

Employers need to start putting the crack pipes down nobody good is going to work for minimum wage.
I have seen adverts for minimum wage menial unskilled jobs asking for minimum GSCE grades etc it's laughable.
This is why the immigration floodgates shall remain open brits don't want to live to work they want to work to live.

Agree,Immigrants will though,Tons of car washes,Factories around me are full of non UK citizens..purely because theyre willing to work for hardly anything.

Zero hour contracts are stupid and shouldn't be allowed imo.

Job hunting isn't that time consuming, looking after kids at some weekends/ holidays by default isn't that time consuming even if you're busy every second you have them. What's your problem exactly - you seem to get all irate just because someone disagrees with your pov?

They have their uses, sometimes they're abused but the whole thing has been over hyped. Most new jobs created are not zero hour contracts.

We all know what you would say if he wasn't spending every waking second searching for jobs though.

Also, LOL at 2 kids not being time-consuming.
