Ashley Madison user accounts leaked online

Funny how the press seems to be accepting that Michelle Thomson, Scott Mills and Tony Blair's emails were all added on there by hoaxers?

I wonder how many "normal" husbands will get away with "honest, my email has been added by somebody else?

heres the hack map of ashley madison users

Italy tho.

I'm curious, why is there a sudden surge in hacking lately? from Sony to this... and why wasn't all this taking place 5 - 8 years ago or so or regular occurrences.

What is the reason that it feels or appears that everything is getting hacked nowadays unlike the past... As all I ever seem to hear these years is such and such has been compromised/breached/leaked/stolen. You name it.

Fair bit is knock on from some SSL, etc. bugs recently that have resulted in a lot of information leaking out that hackers have been able to capitalise on - gaining entry to system that would not normally be easy to hack - which has been the enabler a fair few hacking sprees lately. Some of those bugs have been in play for a year or 2 before anyone went public with them and/or were discovered by security researchers, etc. allowing those with less scruples to harvest up a load of data or plant trojans, backdoors, etc. deep inside systems for later use.

The AM map isn't really representative of much other than there are some people registered somewhere. What does red represent? Does it mean more than one person at that location, so perhaps two then? Without some kind of key or relative representation it doesn't really mean much, other than to the human eye we make the assumption that red must be bad and loads of people must be there. You can't be very accurate with a map of such a small scale too, a dot/pixel will cover a massive area.

Olonkinbyen in the north sea has what looks to be what I can guess to be one registered user. Population of that island? 14 :p

if this incluides all old delted accounts, what you'll find is that there wil be Aa massive percentage that are the same people.

these kinds of sites theres lots of people who join for a few days/weeks and then elave and rejoi na short while later over and voer.

And sensationalism.

Even the Saudies have something vaguely along the lines of "due process" - before they open the bags filled with rocks for the locals to ply their form of punishment.

And short of having a FB picture of you spitroasting another man with your sword; and given the nature of the data dump; the no email verification policy of AM you can plead the shaggy defence

On another note, given the "think of the LGBTs" chorus of replies. WTF (thats Why The ****) would you be using AM - "Ashley Madison is the world's leading married dating service" unless of course you married in the past few years, in which case my original post applies.

And a final point, to users of said service, irrespective of sexual orientation.. to use personal.. or work email address, gps coordinates from the app -

Are some people really this stupid?.
-yes s2p, it seems they are

Guess what, some gay people could be in a heterosexual marriage.

You know I can't help think this is is a new business model that law firms are using.

Pay some hackers to hack something, they release the data, company gets sued by said the law firm for millions and so on, even if the hackers get caught, maybe they get paid after they did their time and everything many years later.

If you take this example, the hackers demands was for the website to shut down which isn't going to happen, it's a pretty much a unreasonable demand. While hacks before was trying to get money.

So cutting to the chase, not read this thread.. But where's this database so i can be a nosy parker? One that's not by email, but by NAME !!!

Already opportunists and emailing all the emails on the data saying pay so much bitcoin or we make it public.

In all honesty, i can't believe there are so many suckers out there handing over their cc details to such a site... Yeah right, woman who just wanna get laid.... Clearly these 60mil or so men, have no idea how a woman works.... The few and by that I mean very very very few, that actually are on there, are probably the sort you wouldn't want to stick it in. Unless you don't mind some venereal disease.

i dont condone it by any means, but i disagree with you there. I think woman are also keen for affairs but just want different things out of it. Men want something new, woman want the attention and affection that someone new in their life will give.

Again, its a horrible thing to do, but i can guarantee its not a 99% men site.
