I've been using Mayhems H2O with a silver kill coil for a couple of years and no hassles. OCUK don't have any H2O in stock, so would normal DI water and a kill coil suffice?

Yup. Used normal Di water nd kill coil lots of times before with no problems. Nice and cheap too.

Just to clarify the question, is a silver kill coil as effective XT-1? I'm particularly interested as my CPU block will be copper based but my GPU block will be nickel.

No, some advise adding a anti-corrosive additive to kill coil.

Where XT-1 Contains-
Synergistic corrosion inhibitors to protect metal/Contains scale and biological inhibitors to help prevent fouling.

I use it my loop which contains copper CPU and Actel/Nickal GPU.

Yes, and is as simple as adding to your DI water.

Not all Di is equal.

Some cheap brands arent much better than tap water.

Using Car Plan De-Ionised Water 2.5ltr £1.10 from Asda with Mayhems XT-1 Contains- Synergistic corrosion inhibitors to protect metal/Contains scale and biological inhibitors to help prevent fouling.

Emptied my sons loop the other day containing the above and it was still clear after 14 months.

It is rubbish quality though imho - has quite a few impurities etc in it. Your better off getting distilled from chemist in 5 litre size, which you can usually order if not in stock.

Tescos water is ok, never had a problem, even without adding any tech gobbldegook to make it superduper coolent

Car Plan is all I have ever used in my loop since I started watercooling along with a additive and I have never had any problems. I have even gone for more than 2.5 years without draining and nothing was gunked up.

This is good to hear, as OcUK are out of white coolant and clear tubing so i'm going with this and white tubing.

Dont really do watercooling but thought Id throw this out there. Have any of you tried local fish (tank) sellers? Marine fish require DI water I buy mine for £1 for 25 litres as the place uses its own reverse osmosis machine and I just take a bottle to be filled. I would expect it will be decent quality from a decent place.
