Powder coating alloys?

Out of any wheels I've had refurbed by far the best job was powdercoating by Top Marques local to me in Stoke, truely fantastic "as new" finish to my wheels inside out and no issues with the finish in the time I had the car.

RJK had his done there I believe and again should echo the above.

If it flakes then it was a **** poor job tbh, not prepped properly and the same would have happened to a similarly poor paint job.

It's funny how everyone says black on black is gash. I roll with black on black and tbh don't like it too much, but in real life everyone off here said they looked good, make your minds up.

Good you read what I wrote.

When damaged water gets under the powder coat and causes flaking as it is less flexible. It is nothing to do with the quality of the work, it is due to the way the powder coat binds to the wheel once coated and lifts around the damaged area. I found in many cases a good 2 pack can last a lot better once chipped. I also found that where the wheel nuts go, the tightening can cause some lifting and if water gets in then you get corrosion and flaking around the bolt holes which eventually spreads like cancer.

Sans damage, both are pretty good, and the powder coat can be more damage resistant in the first place.

Once powder coated you usually need a clear lacquer to give a decent shine as well.

Bit generalising with the comment about black wheels on black car, not everyone I am sure has said they like it, just a few who have commented I would say. I have yet to see black wheels on a black car that looks better than alternative colours.

Black on black is Astra territory, embrace the bronze age!

How utterly chav-tastic.

I quite like that.

Can confirm. The job they did was spot on. Wouldn't hesitate to go back there for work in the future
