The leader of one of Britain’s major trade unions has been banned from voting in the Labour Party’s leadership election.
Mark Serwotka, the general secretary of the PCS union, which represents civil servants, had his ballot retroactively revoked after having voted online earlier this month.
The trade unionist was a member of the Labour party until the 1980s; his union says he has not been a member of another political party since.
Have you read many posts on this forum... at all?
Nope, nope, nope and nope.
“Those people who don’t support the aims and values of the Labour party are not entitled to vote. We will continue the process of verification right up until the last minute,” acting leader Harriet Harman told BBC News.
There's a sign post to the future, right there.
Any comment to go with that?

"Consultation on public transport: Some women have raised with Jeremy that a solution to the rise in assault and harassment on public transport could be to introduce women only carriages. My intention would be to make public transport safer for everyone from the train platform, to the bus stop to on the mode of transport itself. However, I would consult with women and open it up to hear their views on whether women-only carriages would be welcome - and also if piloting this at times and modes of transport where harassment is reported most frequently would be of interest."
I can't say I have much problem with that. Do you? Why?
I might raise with Jeremy that a solution to the rise in racism incidents on public transport could be to introduce black-only carriages on public transport.

I've been on this forum for nearly 17 years, it's anything but Tory.
What is has, and it confuses a lot of left leaning posters, is free speech for the most part.
Some of the forums you might be used to frequenting probably have a harder line in towing the "party line" in respect to moderation and following the views of the website in question.

yep, this is what labour, and a lot of socialists, think about people who don't agree with them.

Most trade unions are a joke anyway only after their own hidden agenda. Always rallying and campaigning etc etc, but when you are facing a disciplinary at work and ask your union for support and representation, they are just not interested.
