goona post something and tell me what you think it means

In summary it appears a Technician/Repairman was present at your given establishment whereupon it was divulged to said Technician/Repairman that you, had told him the TV is being replaced by Samsung. Obviously the Technician/Repairman must have been doing the job of dealing with the Public for a few years and had the good sense to phone his Superiors and confirm what the Customer (You) had told him. To which: His superiors informed him that another Dept. was dealing with the Fault/Complaint with a view to a POSSIBLE exchange. Upon receiving this information the Technician/Repairman decided to leave the problem TV with you.

And now I'm guessing as the Repair Invoice has a date of March this year, the POSSIBLE exchange TV has yet to materialise and the OP has decided to Post a somewhat incoherent and cryptic whine Thread here at OcUK Forums. Amirite?

No, when he arrived I was already speaking to the CS rep form Samsung I then gave him the phone so he could talk to cs rep after a few words between them he told me that an exchanged was being done so he could not take the TV etc.

I asked him to write it down and thats what he wrote, so i figure "customer advised tv being exchanged" meaning I was advised not I advised that tv will be replaced.

Ok... So what happened like a week after he left? Did you chase Samsung about the exchange?

It's almost September and you only posting this now.

Oh, I must have missed all that important information in your opening Post. How very silly of me.

You're not the brightest bulb in the box, are you? I could text that number right now with a link to this thread, what do you think could happen? The owner could well get in touch with your boss and lodge a complaint. And then you'd be very lucky to keep your job as this is breach of privacy and is actually a very serious matter (like legal serious, not company policy serious).

i'am the owner, those numbers aren't in use and all my details were erased before posting , the engineer detail etc.. don't really care about that but i've covered it up too please you.

Been chasing them for a long time about this, they seem not too be able to find the recorded conversation.
I told them no worries I have it recorded, however I can't release it unless I have a letter of disclosure by the engineer ,the CS rep and Samsung they refused. I then gave them a summary of the conversation which legally I can do.

Wow O_o I am pretty surprised they won't just exchange the tv to be honest, seeing as it's under full warranty. Also bit odd you recorded the conversation lol.

Why not just ask for an engineer to come fix it and if he cannot fix it then the engineer will have to arrange a replacement anyway?

No, the order it's written makes the implication it was the customer doing the advising, hence the subsequent calls, otherwise it would be written at the end. You can also see similar use of the word advised in reference to what the call centre told him, he certainly wouldn't be advising the call centre of the exchange status, when he just called them to ask.

"customer advised tv being exchanged" you suggested that me the customer advised him the engineer ? "he heard them advised me on speaker phone"

"customer advises tv being exchanged" this I would agree that i advised him.

Yes, it's effectively been shortened from 'The customer advised me that the TV was being exchanged' . See similar all the time at work, that statement is only covering his own ass, it says you advised him, no doubt at all in my opinion.

Have to record everything these days, they will try and get away with what they can.

They have offered to fix it, but the TV had issues since day one and really it was there flagship 4k model, this has been going on for a year now, they just said they will fix it now tell be its out of warranty but as goodwill gesture they will fix it, this is not good enough after a year unable to use the TV i expect a new one for various reasons, if it break again i'm screwed at least with a replacement I get 1 year warranty.

"I have just been advised by customer" that would mean what you are saying.

What is written means what I'm saying too, you just don't want it to because you want that note to be your ticket to a new TV.

From an uninvolved neutral perspective, I don't think it even implies you were advised of anything.

How strange, your OP shows up as this on my screen:

No i want the same TV just not the one I have in my possession, as there have been faults with it.

As far as I understand you have to inform the person that you are recording the conversation. Unless you are a under cover reporter and work for the Sun/Mirror.

If it's a personal phone line, only if you plan to play the recording to a third party.

As OP is party 1 and Samsung are party 2, there is no need to tell them the call is being recorded and they do not have to release it to allow themselves to hear it, as they are one of the two parties (and for this situation both the CS rep and the engineer (if a Samsung engineer) would be included in party 2.

Can I record telephone conversations on my home phone?

Yes. The relevant law, RIPA, does not prohibit individuals from recording their own communications provided that the recording is for their own use. Recording or monitoring are only prohibited where some of the contents of the communication - which can be a phone conversation or an e-mail - are made available to a third party, ie someone who was neither the caller or sender nor the intended recipient of the original communication. For further information see the Home Office website where RIPA is posted.

Do I have to let people know that I intend to record their telephone conversations with me?

No, provided you are not intending to make the contents of the communication available to a third party. If you are you will need the consent of the person you are recording.
