The price of Lego is just madness.

I bought the LEGO Technic 42000: Grand Prix Racer set from amazon for £60 delivered, built it and displayed it for a year and sold it on ebay 8 months later for £55. Some kits even go up in value, so the cost is high but it's not money down the drain.

Ive got a huge box of it upstairs from when I was a kid. The thing is, back then there were about 20 bricks in total and 10 of them were the same one in 10 colours :D

The most expensive set is a few hundred pounds, pocket change compared to lots of other hobbies. These sets are not really targeted at children, even though Lego is a toy.

So tempted to buy a flagship Lego Technic set - used to love building them as a kid, but have been in the dark ages for about 20+ years since. Anyone felt the need to scratch that Lego itch but then regret it ? For those wondering, I'm pondering set 42009 ( mobile crane ), set 42043 ( Arocs truck ) and set 42030 ( Volvo wheel loader ). Quite like the new blue crane crawler too ! Not that I'm thinking of buying all simultaneously ... but that would be cool :P

Came back from New York last week, saw some pretty good lego models when I was over there, the usual empire state building, rockafella centre, statue of liberty etc. there was a really good one of USS Intrepid including the planes on its deck at the Intrepid museuem.

Mobile Crane Mk II is an awesome set. haven't built the wheel loader, I do have the new crawler crane on the way to me at the moment.

I mostly buy Lego technic, though I do mix it up every so often with the odd creator set.
