The EU Migrant Crisis

if you say so

I do say that human society can not carry on existing without human fetuses, it would be like children of men without the happy ending (unless she decided to have an abortion)

you're confusing correlation and causation methinks...

It's well documented that that starting school early is damaging, the proof is in the pudding. 88% of countries in the world have a starting age of 6 or 7. So yes my son won't be going to school at 4 and since that's illegal in Britain with its minority view, it leaves only home schooling. Not the best crime getting punished for wanting your children to have a better education.

t'was more the impression that you were struggling to understand the concept...

The concept is easy, bet and lay the qualifier and get a free bet. Never seeing an exchange before with odds jumping up and down takes some practice, 8 times out of 10 now I can predict if they will improve before in play.

It's probably a good thing that whatever a woman chooses to do with her body is absolutely none of your business, isn't it?

Necking several bottles of wine and vomiting everywhere is your free will what you do with your body.

On the other hand, this cannot go on. We cannot take wave after wave of migrants indefinitely. If we tried, we could cause serious problems in our own countries.

Ultimately, we have to say 'no' to some of them :/ And I hate that, but we otherwise we'll end up with the same unrest here. And I do believe that.

"We" do not. There is no wave. The door was never open. The government has only committed to taking in 500 asylum seekers from Syria over the next three years. Let that sink in.

This countries repsponse is an absolute disgrace.

The impression I get from the media and my personal feeling is...

As people have said, where does it stop 10,000, 50,000 100,000 etc

We do not have the infrastructure, facilities or housing to accommodate such an influx of people.

History repeating itself again, the fall of Rome anyone?

Might want to look at how much aid we have pumped into Syria, it's more than twice than the rest of the EU has put together .

We are disgraceful...

Excuse my ignorance but isn't there more that we can do to solve the problem at the core.. ie. can't the EU send in their collective armies to sort the mess out in Syria?

I don't think you can stop people leaving a country by pouring more violence in.

Edit: This thread is ridiculous.

How many would you like to let in, and where are you going to get the money to house and feed them... along with paying for their medical care, etc, etc.

Where are you getting this money from? Somebody has to lose out while we divert this money, so what should we cut?

And how many should we take? Thousands, millions? Why stop at just Syria where there are plenty of refuges from Africa we could take...

Why not take all of them, we can become a nice 3rd world country too.

Alright, that's not what you were saying, but how many is enough, and how many is too many? Where do /you/ draw the line?

Just so I'm clear, are you stating that because there are more refugees than we have the capacity to help, that we shouldn't help any?

"Where do we stop?" is an illogical starting point for any discussion.

Don't pay mind to these people, they don't live in reality, limits don't exist.

If everyone in the third world cottons on the EU is a free ride we are all doomed.

It has to stop now!

Deep breath and breathe. :D

Its not meant to stop people fleeing in the short term... but a decade from now it might have a positive impact. If we dont fight the problem at the crux then what will the country be like ten years from now?

No I wasn't saying that. I was saying that our capacity to help is constrained by our ability to pay for them.

The more we take, the more money we need to divert from other places, at least in the short term. Be it pensions, schools, the NHS, the military, or whatever. Or they can increase taxes.

There is no guarantee that these migrants will be a net contributor to the economy, or how long that will take.

So I ask again, how many would you like us to take in, and how are you paying for this? Where are we getting the money? Where are the extra school places, the extra beds in hospitals, etc?

Someone said 500 was a disgustingly low amount to take. Fine. So what figure are you gunning for? And where, where, where is the money to pay for it?

there on about making upto 50% of disabled people find jobs so theres a few refugees we can take in, just give them the houses of the people who suicide or die not long after their benefits are cut

MP's second homes could also be used for temporary accommodation

I'm just wondering why the rich muslim lands dont want to help their brothers and sisters ? or for that matter why they all head for infidel lands?

these migrants clearly all speak english as their first language so it makes the most sense for them not to live in arab nations rich with oil

Maybe gaza could take some in if they could control their own border, we could give control of ours to israel as well, bet they wouldn't let any migrants slip past

I think everyone that thinks they should come here for safety from dangerous France with bombs flying over head daily, should do something like a spouse visa, but of course a migrant visa. A big hearted liberal must pay £1000 to apply and show they earn £18,600+ a year, have a room in their home for them and cover all their costs with no entitlement to public funds.

The only limit will be on the number of wonderful people who will sponsor them.
