Hmm, I might try that.

Hurrah, it worked! Thanks!

Biggest climb: 1,124ft. That's more like it!

good stuff!! :)

Good work on the commencement of logging :)

I'd dump the protein shakes immediately. You don't need anywhere near 203 grams of protein so those 300 kcal could be put somewhere useful instead.

If you want to add me on MFP I'm "aekeron" on there. You can then share your food diary (or just make it public if you like). I will be able to comment on your portion sizes and the choices you've made for certain food types. Some of the kcal and macro data on MFP is a bit dodgy so sometimes you'll want to pick another option for one of your meals/foods/etc.

Id say getting to 3k+ kcals/day is not going to be super easy if he's not used to eating that much! I need around 4k and I struggle every day..!

you don't need that much protein sure, and if you've got better way of filling yourself up like lean meats etc then I'd do that! you're not trying to body-build.. all you're doing is trying to gain weight so you need a good quality food and go 300-400kcals over your maintenance!

I'm guessing he's already getting protein from good sources for the other 128 grams of protein he's eating (75 in total for the shakes, right?) so I'd actually switch out that part of his daily intake for carbs. Oat-based stuff is always good. I love flapjack and granola bars personally.

what I did was -;

save gpx/data for that ride with "biggest" climb, remove it.. reupload it.. - bam.

Nice one! I'll give that a try on the 45% gradient in the middle of Norwich (yeah right) that is currently showing as my biggest climb. Not sure they've updated the segment though.

grudas is it the Moon Comet you have and did the video of? How have you found battery life?

I'm looking for a rear brighter than my current mini RC (15 lumen), but I require USB chargeable with seatpost mount and ideally a 'clip' mount I can secure it to my saddle bag.

How heavy is yours and do you think the standard 'clip' mount would hold it secure on the end of the topeak wedge bags? Ideally I would also cable-tie it on there rather that just using the clip.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peter_Sagan
According to Sagan's SRM file, in the final 1.5 km when Cancellara initiated the move, Sagan ramped up his cadence to over 120rpm to stay with him and averaged 493 watts of power in the last 2 minutes 20 seconds of the race. His power output surged to 1,236 watts in the finale, averaging 970 watts in the last 200 metres.

:o

Roady, I've ordered a Moon Nebula (did you mean that?) and I have a Topeak Wedge bag - hopefully it'll arrive tomorrow but if not, it'll be monday, so I can let you know if Grudas can't :)

this is the one I did a preview of -;

it has quite a few mounts so I'm sure you'll find one that fits! no idea on the weight but it is not heavy.

I use the strobe mode during the day(20lumens) and that is said to last around 10hours! other modes are between 2ish(over-drive SUPER bright) hours to 20hours(city)

Roady - I have the Moon Comet and while the light is great the battery life... isn't! A few hours and it is flashing telling me to recharge it. Never died on me though so I don't know how much is left in the tank when it is giving the low battery warning.

That is with a mix of low and medium steady and mix of 50% and 100% flash.

Should get my new bike tomorrow.

After damaging my titanium frame in the crash the other week and being quoted silly money to get it fixed I couldn't bring myself to buy another frame and do a full strip and rebuild, as it just won't be the same bike anymore (can't get the same frame).

I thought sod it, I'll just buy a bike as I can customise it before it gets built by the shop, rather than me spending hours building and tweaking it.

I'm going to be stripping my old bike so if anyone wants some cheap 10 speed SRAM Force stuff keep an eye on Bikeradar over the next few days as I'll likely bang it all on there.

Double scoop that badboy. Much easier to drink one then.

But nervous right now. 4th day in Corsica, hot as balls. 3 days cycling and done about 300 km. Tomorrow, I face a 1477 m climb to the top of col de Vergio in 33 km. The prize? 40 km of descending followed by a minor kick up of 400 m or so in the last 10 km. And my ankle is hurting. Gulp. Then after that a final hard day in the saddle of 100 km back to Bastia but seriously tempted to cut out the hills and just take the main road back. Totally spent and hurting. Proper write up to come when I get home.

You need to get oop north and beat my pathetically slow time up this climb:

You're bottom of my friends list lol ;)

Let me know cheers, I imagine the fittings are very similar!

Ahh, almost double what I'm expecting to spend! ;)

Ah miserable, that's why I tend to stick to what I know - Cateye & Leyzne! Get great battery life, good USB recharging and great quality.

Thannks for the heads up, I'll avoid it as ideally I'm after a light I only need to charge weekly (~4-5 hours runtime or longer).

Should get my new bike tomorrow.

Gutted for the loss of a Ti frame, what have you gone for as a replacement?

Do it! Ride it all! Suffering is for when you're home! Rule #5 & #6! ;)

Chilly this morning!!
Medium weight glove recommendations?
My full winter ones are a little overkill at the moment...

I'm wearing these, probably very similar to the current ones. They're great quality but fairly short on padding (only slight) and not that comfortable on the hoods... Unsure if I'll replace mine until needed as only generally wear them commuting. Will probably hunt some new ones, waterproof if possible which I can then wear with liners in winter as a compromise rather than another thin long fingered pair for this time of year...

I like my Endura Dexters - nicely padded (I think) and windproof, which makes them nicely warm for a sweaty handed idiot like me.

A man who fears suffering is already suffering from what he fears.

Pain. Agony. Misery becomes Honour. Glory. Victory :D

Planet X RT-80. There's very little out there that suits my pocket and my taste. It's all jazzy graphics and logos everywhere and/or silly expensive with low end kit on it. Ideally I would have been able to afford an Enigma Echo (drool), but I couldn't justify spending that much. Happy enough with what I've bought though, especially as I got £180 off for crash replacement and a free helmet and carbon road shoes.
