The EU Migrant Crisis

And what nobody wants to realise/accept is that they were already safe before the fatal journey.

It is of course tragic, but why does nobody put the spotlight on the parents?

Wasn't doing what they did extremely reckless? Putting small children on an unsafe boat when there is no immediate danger forcing their hand?

Not to mention plenty of children have drowned doing this in the last year already but nobody was that bothered.

what theres no conflict in Ukraine now?

Ah yeah suppose we can skip the Balkans ravaged by conflict in the 90-2000's too.

Oh and poland too, because the economic state over there is so fantastic I would definitely never move to the UK to set up a hand car wash.

Yeah ok Ukraine is wrong.

The sense of entitlement these people have is quite frustrating though. I don't get free accommodation, food etc. so why should they?

they could go the other direction.

Your a union head and you acting like we in your union so go away.

I despise people like you. Common purpose course went well did it?

You cannot answer a basic question just like a politician, typical unionist.

Note

Too much yellow in the original reply and a large ban hammer over my head. :p

Just a quick one itchy, do you remember me giving you solid proof and reason as to why this is an issue, and you just falling back on the fact you are prejudiced as a response without bothering to read the links???

People in extremely fragile glass houses should defeinitely not be casting......

I'll call it now, anyone on this forum can answer till they're blue in the face and you'll still hate brown people for no reason, fact.

As I said earlier it isn't about racism or anything else it's about being able to sustain/support everything. Not to mention the simplest of things called physical space...

So Germany are going to take 800,000, we'll probably end up taking a few million but what about France, who is also calling on these 'binding quotas'....to reduce the current 40% (with Germany) being suggested. By my reckoning they should be taking a fairly large chunk of these refugees, if need be the EU can use some of the billions we've supplied it with to support the refugees.

Here's my reasoning, France is literally one of the biggest countries in regards to space in all of the EU, not to mention one of the smallest people per square kilometre (based on 2013 metrics which are likely lower than they are now).

UK - 263
Germany - 225
France - 103

Based on that alone, France can afford to take in a lot more than we can, yet here they are trying to get their quota reduced.

there is a good reason why they want too, France knows that immigration leads to more riots every summer. They have immigrants from their own former colonies to deal with.

Mate I can make a picture in paint and say everywhere is great too to counter it, doesn't mean its right....

Second point, I'm pretty sure we have some kind of government schemes in place to support you if you end up unemployed.....

Well then why don't we open up our borders to all migrants who come from less economically prosperous nations...?

If Poland isn't good enough for asylum seekers, because they won't have a nice Playstation or plasma telly during their stay, then yeah let's open up and have them all in for a nice cup of free everything.

We'll pay for it with this money tree over here.

It all stinks....

Just done a little research, why travel on a boat from Bodrum to Kos???

Bodrum to Kos is about 12 miles, further down the coast is Akyarlar which is a mere 3 mile journey over sea??? WTF!

Things are just not adding up to me at all.

Also some people are saying the family that lost there children was from Istanbul!

Aren't people from those eastern countries heading here too? Clearly isn't an easy place to get by.

The quality of life in Eastern European countries is fine. People in these countries compare their earnings to Western Europeans and decide they want more, they want to be on the gravy train.

Right this will probably be the 500th time I've posted this comment then......

no one is suggesting 'opening up' borders. The UK already has a system in place to deal with genuine asylum seekers but due to current conflict there are more than normal. The only person suggesting TV's and playstations is you.

To increase refuge centres would require public money and time, neither of which the UK has, the UK is seen in the EU as a prosperous nation compared to others hence why they want to come here in the first place.

Now fleeing from war and poverty, you make the trip across the ocean and are presented with a choice of places to live, do you pick the poorer eastern europe or pick a better off Britain?????????

You are you insinuating that am racist?

I have friends of many colours and races.

Point is these are economic migrants not desperate refugees. Ok lets say 20% are point is, its a train coming your way soon.

They want a better life for there children, is that any different then what people here or any where else want?

How dare they dream of a better future. They should rot in the squalor of the refugee camps or beg for a living. Perhaps that would please you.

It's only by chance you have the privilege to post on this forum, a chance many others are literally dying for. If fate dealt you a different card I wonder how different you would be from these people your so quick to put down and judge as if they're a blight on you and this country.

None of us chose to be born nor did we choose our cards we just do best with what were dealt with.

How do you distinguish between the two groups?

I'd pick dubai or somewhere that people spoke my language where there is no war.
it's amazing a genuine refugee even considers such a choice...

fleeing poverty ? lol send em back they just bring it upon us

people complain about our own needy all the time including our government

Tell you what lets move the chess pieces around. ;)

I welcome any migrant into this country if it increases my business and profit.
Lets not be too hasty in stopping these people, we can make money from them and live in bigger houses.

You know what? I was wrong!

Lets cook. :D
