if they didn't want to go to germany or uk or sweden, we would not be having this discussion in this thread. Sure majority of them are in turkey and Lebanon, there is just as many trying to go to europe. All the non sytrian migrants from africa and elsewhere want to go to western europe. Even migrants in france want to go to the UK. Nothing wrong with france, well relatively, nothing wrong with the place. Nice food, beaches and women.
"For many thousands of years, migrants could move no further west. Scotland was the end of many journeys."
"The explanation is simple. We are a people on the edge of beyond; on the end of a massive continent. Peoples were migrating northwest; and they couldn't get any further. We have collected them."
yeah!
oh or that you might speak english (and not french)
oh or that you might have family or friends here
oh or that there are more jobs here
but yeah the only reason!

Well, I can see our shared responsibility within Europe can come into this - also, I'm not sure there is any requirement for them to seek refuge in the first safe country? I think this article answers that point

This is history repeating itself, persecuted peoples have a habit of traveling north until they can go no further.

Yes. They all adhere to this dangerous death cult called Islam.
I said never mind as you were talking about Muslim economic migrants (Not sure what an issue these are?), we're currently talking about Syrian refugees
An entirely different matter
For two years in Istanbul, she enjoyed a comfortable life. Nour found work in a hair transplant salon, and later with Turkish state TV. She learnt Turkish, went horse-riding and dyed her hair blonde for the summer.
Out of interest, what's wrong with being anti-islam? Or anti-anything that's incompatible with our culture?
People trying to escape unstable/poor countries? A never-ending torrent.
Even the Christians and the Jews? (Syria is a secular country like the UK, not an Islamic country, that's what ISIS are fighting to change).
So it's not just about seeking asylum and being safe then. Glad we cleared that up.
These people simply want to come here for a better future.
Yes - any future were they dont get barrel bombed by their own government or beheaded by ISIS is a better one id imagine.
But it isn't about safety or a better future, its about the 'best' future they think they can get.
I still don't get why that's a bad thing?
And how can we possibly have a shared responsibility when no shared decisions have been made? Germany decided to open the floodgates all on its own.
Better future relative to other EU states. As you said, Turkey or Hungary or Poland would be better than what they have now. And would be safe.
But it isn't about safety or a better future, its about the 'best' future they think they can get. And they are being handed out places in Germany, and now the Germans want us to hand out places in this country.
You don't see why all the migrants heading to Germany or the UK is a bad thing?
You... I... /head explodes.
