The EU Migrant Crisis

So you aren't looking at the bigger issues of the problem just the face value emotional ones?

Seems like it.

He's the same guy who went to Calais to give the migrants some supplies, wasn't he? That's about where his (perhaps somewhat compelling at some times) arguments fall flat for me. The Calais migrants are without a single shred of doubt, not refugees. They're economic migrants who know the UK is a soft touch compared to the rest of the EU once the're in - but he's fine with that. Economics migrants trying to game the system are absolutely fine because they're somehow entitled to our standard of living whilst we're in the middle of a huge crisis. I can't agree with that, not ever.

If he was arguing for say, more resources diverted to properly processing refugees, then throwing out those who are only trying to game the system (which I suspect at this time is a growing, large amount) I could start to agree (in reasonable numbers, which I have no doubt will be smaller compared to his ideal figures), but as of now what I'm seeing is far too much defence for economic migrants which, beyond his disagreeable personal beliefs, truly are a big incoming problem. That, and the potential for thousands of ISIS fighters sneaking their way in too. So far, ISIS tend to do what they say they will, and amiga, nor me, have definite proof to whether they have, or won't, sneak in. Evidence would tend to the former, however, based on how much hatred ISIS posses for us. This is a goldmine situation for spreading their terror, and our inability to deal with these migrants will only let more and more slip past - and the people who suffer, or even die, as a result of that will be on our hands.

As for the taxes being increased in Germany, that's only going to increase resentment for those Germans who tried to ignore everything going on and just got on with their lives - now they'll be personally hit too. That's going to end well.

He is in politics.

Ah, then I guess he's a total lying scumbag that nobody should be paying attention to. Gotcha. ;) :D

Changed your theoritical scenario already?

Keep going..........

He's simply pointing out that if you spend money in one place you can't also spend it elsewhere.

In this society of ours - which is far from utopian itself - who do you think will bear the brunt of the extra cost of increased immigration? Our own poor, or the well-off among us?

You can almost guarantee that it will be cuts to public services, cuts to disability allowances, cuts to local infrastructure projects outside London, increased council tax for all... that is how we will pay for more immigrants to come here. You think the rich will put them up in their stately homes, or house them on their yachts? :p How many of our own elites will make generous donations to bring migrants here? It's risible.

Although I don't blame the immigrants for this, that's just our own country's inequality shining through. The burden will fall on the middle-class and working class, as it always does. We may be a prosperous nation - we are - but we aren't all living lives of luxury even in this country. You know we have people on the breadline too?

With more immigration, I expect will we simply have a growing class of poor and discontent people. Many of which won't even speak English. A recipe for a nice social disaster later along the line.

How many of these immigrants btw are going to find a nice, well-paid job? Or how many will end up working cash-in-hand for less than minimum wage? You think businesses looking for cheap labour will share your sense of social justice?

So many things are wrong here.

Not all Muslims are terroists and not all politicans* are lying scumbags ;)

Although I'd qualify that as stating that I'm not a politician, I'm just involved in politics - mainly web and social media presence and some policy and legislative research.

oh wait I forgot they can't leave their prison
