The EU Migrant Crisis

What's this obsession with young men of fighting age?

People have the crazy idea that those of fighting age should be fighting for their homeland, not abandoning it like cowards.

All a bit homo-erotic if you ask me.

Homophobic.

Besides, local government is doing a fine job of putting up the men, women and children that are arriving in the region as is.

Which local government, which region?

The sort of murdoch-drone chumps that would leave the UK because it's they think it's full of too many migrants have absolutely zero chance of being accepted into a foreign country and would be back home in a matter of months complaining no-one liked them.

Nonsense.

Russia is part of the problem today - a powerful nation that operates on, and perpetuates criminality, misinformation and genuine human rights abuses around the world. It's a shame because as you say, they could be great allies in the fight against Islamic terrorism but instead under Putin they are regressing into a medieval mafia state.

Why? the West has done the same, western media suggest how back Russia is, Russian media how back the west are.

And you think the west does not do that, look at all the countries it has destroyed, the West operates on, and perpetuates criminality, misinformation and genuine human rights abuses around the world.

The initial uprising against Assad has been hijacked by the ISIL crowd that were spawned from the mess we left in Iraq. There isn't a good and bad side to fight for in that shambles.

Homophobic.

lol, being lectured on tolerance by a kipper :)

Nonsense.

You going to lecture me on what life is like in Germany?

Sounds like somebody's not integrating very well with the German population - I presume you've been down to your local train station to applaud the recent arrivals and give them stuff?

Oh and I think British people who are concerned about immigration levels will fit in quite well in places like the US, Canada, Australia and NZ - they will understand the benefits of respecting the host culture and obedience to the law. The ones who won't are the ones who move to other countries and start preaching human rights, uncontrolled immigration, and oh we must help these poor people etc - like Natalie Bennett and Yasmin Ali-baba Brown.

Anyone else sick of the phrase "Britain is full"?

its one of those sayings certain people parrot continually, but actually is a load of rubbish

Who decided that the current population level is the maximum possible? Who worked out that 64.1 million is the absolute limit - where are the sums and working out that proves this? do we just take your word for it because you have decided that we hit the maximum and thats it?

Land - only 2 and a bit % of the uk is built on
So the other 97 and a bit % is still free - hardly full is it?
Every remaing Cm of land is sacred is it? never to be built on? I like the country side as much as the next person, and we should try and keep as much as possible using careful planning but seems a bit daft to limit ourselves so harshly

Density - Not the worst (as people like to make out) but could be improved if we didnt stuff all 61 million people into 2% of the land

Housing - 610,000 vacant properties in the uk, we still have a housing shortage though, but thats because of this strage obsession with never again ever building on a single square meter of land? why?
Every single housing development I read about gets NIMBY'ed to death, great for all the existing homeowners - screw anyone else that wants a home :p

If we are so dangerously full why do we let people have children? OMG three kids you terrible greedy person using up all our Britain on your offspring

I've donated clothing and money, yep, like most people here.

People who are concerned about immigration, will fit in well when they are immigrants. Just ****ing LOL. You go up sticks to a foreign country and start complaining about immigration levels, see how many friends you make.

Just out of curiosity, when you leave to go to the US or Canada, would you be an economic migrant, or a refugee fleeing persecution by all the immigrants?

People keep mentioning the amount of unoccupied houses in this country, but how many of those are habitable now and how much money is needed to bring those that aren't fit for habitation.

What about the social housing waiting lists, should these refugees be automatically be out to the top of the list?

Lots of people are saying we should do more but there seems to be an utter lack of critical thinking when it comes to the practicalities of doing so.

For the record I think we as a nation should help but we need to tackle the problem at source, not go for the short term sticking plaster approach.

Well this is what some think of the English

so you are complaining about migrants moving to this country..and your answer is to move to another country?

Tell me this. When was the last time you saw\heard\read that the British people that
now live in another country Riot\Protest about religion\Insist they have their own laws ECT.

You won't. Because we British blend in, never say a word our of place. This is why we British do so well ;)

Now put that against the Islamic trouble makers here or the Immigrants that want\are here.

I guess that everyone is pleased that the government will fork out extra €6bn to fund (house and pay benefits) these people. I wonder how much more it will cost to integrate them into German society. I bet there won't be much flag waving when the true cost is counted.

LOL.

Did you just say that all the farming land is 'free'? So we can keeping building until 100% of the land has houses on then, can we?

Shelling out a relative pittance to deal with a genuine humanitarian crisis that the rest of the EU is turning it's back on. Yeah people are pretty decent here. It's nothing compared to the money coughed up to prop up Greece.

I'm not going anywhere pal, I wouldn't survive the refugee experience so will probably be one of the first to be beheaded come the Caliphate. If I was younger, fitter, healthier then I'd be trying my damndest to get out now.

We don't even grow enough food to support the population we have, but it's ok because there's all those lovely green fields just waiting to be built on.

I suppose now that pork products will soon be outlawed we can get rid of all the pig farms. That should free up some space .

To be fair, a lot of the empty properties in London are owned by wealthy foreigners as investments and deliberately kept vacant. Compulosory purchase of these properties is a solution, though it's a bit of a moral hazard housing a boat person in a luxury appartment in the centre of London. I'd rather see them sold on the open market where actual Londoners could buy them.
