The EU Migrant Crisis

Single male get less than nothing in this country but pay more than others in this country.

Not just that, property prices and property rental are sky high as the demand does not meet the supply so the prices are huge, besides who the hell wants to be a rent slave? It was popular in the 90s to get your own place but it's just not feasible and all your doing is making the landlords morgage while keeping yourself in a rutt, never progressing to stability of owning your own property.

Meanwhile while you count the pennys your saving for a house or property you can all your own while towing a full time job if your lucky, a refugee is being given a free house, a guaranteed job due to aslyum rules and free food, whereas if you want the same your choice is work if your lucky to have a job and not a zero hours contract or become homeless and rely on foodbanks

Ooooohhhhhh K!

I'm confused as to what that has to do with me pointing out the flaw with your "housing should be allocated by how long you've waited and not by need" argument.

But anyway, I haven't even stated my stance on how many refugees we should take and how we should house them, so your assumption I'm for unfettered immigration just because I point out a problem with a tired anti-immigration argument tells me quite a bit about your political stance in life.

I'm not sure basing a policy on how we deal with this massive crisis on your analysis of a rather selective group of people's facial expressions is the best system we can use.

Oh and I think you meant "demeanor", 'demure' is to be shy and coy (which sadly you're not).

Ok my English failed me I do apologise, head down. :(

I am very shy by the way. ;)

Its very difficult to explain what I see, feel and smell!

On topic !

How come the government has found so many millions of pounds for these people, when a couple of years ago we where scratching our arses?

Here's another....

Very well comrade. Comparing the biggest scientist of them all with some worthless piece of ** Swear words must be fully starred ** child rapist. Go to bed now then wake up and smell the coffee.

Dunno why people are focusing on the cultural aspect or desirability, etc. - its something a lot of people seem to be missing that there is a much bigger problem building up than the nature of the people involved.

I think people are also focussed on the actions of some of these people, which are violent and of huge concern to whichever nation hosts them.

- why do Hungarians even bother? Just get those scum filled trains to Germany as soon as possible and shut your borders.

The comments for that video are hilariously awful (YT in general, tbh). I took away two things.

1. Some people believe the Jews are behind literally everything. Controlling everything, including all the world's governments. I'm going to file that in the drawer which contains "UFO abductions" and "I'm a real life vampire."

2. People will attempt to justify anything these migrants do. One person suggested the food wasn't halal, and that's why they threw it away. Another jumped to their defence, saying, "That is not why they did it. You must understand, they did not do it because they are muslim, and the food is not halal. They did it because they are angry. They are being stopped from going where they want to go; this makes them angry so they react like this."

Well, that's great. What we have are people with anger management issues then, and massive entitlement complexes. And that's OK? Wait, is that normal behaviour for these people? Do they just tantrum whenever they don't get their way? I don't see any grounds for throwing food at water at the people trying to feed you. Any immigrant behaving like this, muslim or atheist, needs to be deported and barred from returning.

What we don't need more of in this country is people prone to violence and hostility with the police. They can **** right off.

You're about to be born and you're given a choice....

A) Born in Britain in an NHS hospital, growing up in the UK, given 13 years of guaranteed high-quality free education (globally speaking), the possibility of studying at the World's best universities but then having to find a job and finance a house.

..or

B) Born in Syria and grow up under and oppressive regime, given little to no education, being bombed daily until you get in a home-made boat to get across the sea with a high possibility of dying but if you survive all that you can have a council house and guaranteed minimum wage job.

You'd really choose B? You're envious of the latter category and feel the former are being hard done by in life?

Besides I don't know where you're getting this idea they get guaranteed jobs from anyway. If they do why does this charity exist?

I find it quite scary how so many people are still in the old mindset of when this was the odd refugees and some economic migrants - there is a massive geopolitical shift in action with potentially far bigger ramifications than the undesirability of a few "refugees".

Yup. The EU referendum can't come soon enough. It will be a good first step if we want to avoid this country being divided up and pulled apart at the seams.

Germany is welcome to transform itself into the brave new world of absolute social chaos if it wants. But we don't need that. We need to stay well away from that.

I'm not even sure if Germany has a plan. Merkel sounds like she's already accepted the death of traditional German culture and values. She's embraced the new Germany, one which doesn't even identify itself as German.

Any significant success in Germany et al enforcing these quotas on us I believe could ensure we leave the eu
It's the one thing that could rumble on and tip the on the fence crowd over the edge

I count myself as on the fence

Not taking the bate and totally off topic.

So you don't think the following describes you at all or the nature of your posts?

Xenophobia is the dislike of that which is perceived to be foreign or strange.[1][2] Xenophobia can manifest itself in many ways involving the relations and perceptions of an ingroup towards an outgroup, including a fear of losing identity, suspicion of its activities, aggression, and desire to eliminate its presence to secure a presumed purity.[3] Xenophobia can also be exhibited in the form of an "uncritical exaltation of another culture" in which a culture is ascribed "an unreal, stereotyped and exotic quality".

Does that chime at all with you when you say things like....

I take my daughter to school every day and pick her up, I can see peoples reactions and demure changing.

I am very good at reading peoples faces.

We just have to say NO!

So you were saying they are looking worried because they're all experts in sociology and foreign cultures and so have a peer-reviewed level analysis of the situation and the ramifications of taking refugees for the UK.

It sounds more like "they're different, speak funny and I don't like the look of them" to me.

You've been arguing our policy should pander to public fears and general ignorance for several posts. How is that based on reason and not xenophobia (despite meeting the dictionary definition of it)?

No I didn't. I was referring to that particular rapist in the posted video (a "refugee"). Period.

So why did you feel the need to post it, what's your point if it isn't "see what these guys are all like"?

I do wonder why people put so much effort into playing the racist/ xenophobe card.
The racism card is so totally over-used here that it has become meaningless anyhow. Calling someone racist now only identifies that you disagree with them, nothing more. The effort made to paint someone as racist is largely wasted on everyone here.

I'd also like to say that no human being is completely objective. We all have bias. Not only that, but this situation is so unprecedented that acting like you know everything will be OK just marks you out as a hopeless romantic.

I know. I hear racist so much or bigot so much it's lost all meaning to me...

Makes point about potential culture clashes due to vastly different views of life based on religious beliefs.

"XENOPHOBE!!!!"

Erm... ok? as if this hasn't been happening for the last decade....

It is probably used to shutdown the discussion. To try to make the other person look so bad and get a lynch mob going.

I was watching a film the other night, 42? Baseball with Harrison Ford and it started to make me think of todays generation. Yes it is a film but still... It appears so many people get more offended at this than they did in the 50s... Yet very few say the n word today. Yet look how often they said it in the film and back then.
