The EU Migrant Crisis

If I was isis commander this situation in Europe would be my wettest of wet dreams.

Probably right.

But those in the emotional camp do see that. All they see is a large group of people in dire need (for most. That will be the case).

I really hope this doesn't all backfire on the countries under pressure to take this people in. Because if it does..... What next?

Germany is Sanctuary.

If i was a ISIS planner Germany would be home, directing the rest of the misguided Islamic Nazi State disciples to blow themselves up in the everywhere else.

MPs voted against military action in Syria and yet David Cameron gave the go-ahead for the assassination a British national on Syrian soil.

If there isn't evidence that Reyaad Khan was planning an attack on the UK then what David Cameron did was illegal.

Troll.

Thanks for trying.

I do wonder why people put so much effort into playing the racist/ xenophobe card.
The racism card is so totally over-used here that it has become meaningless anyhow. Calling someone racist now only identifies that you disagree with them, nothing more. The effort made to paint someone as racist is largely wasted on everyone here.

I'd also like to say that no human being is completely objective. We all have bias. Not only that, but this situation is so unprecedented that acting like you know everything will be OK just marks you out as a hopeless romantic.

I know. I hear racist so much or bigot so much it's lost all meaning to me...

Makes point about potential culture clashes due to vastly different views of life based on religious beliefs.

"XENOPHOBE!!!!"

Erm... ok? as if this hasn't been happening for the last decade....

I agree that people are too quick to play the racism card (which for clarity isn't a word I've actually used) but have you actually read some of the posts on the last few pages?

Just because you have a point when it comes to Guardian columnists and the like, doesn't then mean there aren't plenty of people making xenophobic arguments that shouldn't be called out on it.

A month or so ago, before the migrant crisis was headline news everyday, Donald Trump made an outlandish statement that implied all Mexicans are rapists and murderers and when I heard that I thought you'd never be able to get away with saying stuff like that here. Yet, fast forward to today and I'm hearing and seeing the same kind of stuff from regular people.

We've sunk to Donald Trump's level, which is quite frankly depressing.

I noticed lots of refugees seem to be using smartphones, ofc that's not surprising as their country was hardly Africa before all this started, it's natural that they would have smartphones. The thing I noticed however was that their smartphones are still working, which means their phone bills are being paid, which means those with them have money in the bank.

My solution therefore is to give them Costco membership, that way they can afford to feed themselves, less burden on the taxpayer XD

Only if you're charging them rent. If not then they are a guest and all's well.

Wrong, on Sky News a legal expert said it didn't matter if they were a lodger or an unpaying guest the rules are the same.

It's obvious really if you invite a criminal in and they burgle you, you can hardly expect the insurance company to pay up when you've instigated the problem.

Anyway even if you're right, who in their right mind would invite some unknown Syrians into the house and allow them to live for free.

unspent as per the rehabilitation of offenders act? how would that applie to someone that hasn't committed a crime in the UK? how would you even know what crimes they have committed?

According to this legal bloke that is a get out clause for the insurance companies.
It is entirely up to the house owner to find out, not the insurance company.
If you invite someone in and don't do your research that's your problem.
If they tell lies then I think it would be done on a case by case basis.

yeh sure i just don't see the issuance company being able to prove anything, its not like they can check in Syria, bit of a pointless thing for the media to throw into the pot.

The point is, it's you who have to prove they aren't criminals if the company suspect they've burgled you.

If they refuse to pay up it will simply be yet another get-out clause of which they have many.
