Private equity to buy 20 per cent of AMD

I thought the gpu segment of AMD was already a separate arm :/ . Oh well that's more positive for them as they probably have guys doing a lot of OT trying to spread the load and it doesn't work.

Grow up, it is getting terrible in this sub-section. Where is all this hate.

Most threads are speculation on here, like a lot of the DX12 ones you jump in when the cause suits you.

Wow there sonny boy. I don't jump on the DX12 threads when it suits me. I like how you accuse me of something when i havn't accused anyone directly. And to say when it suits me is insinuating im a fan boy of sort when the benches favor a certain brand is what your getting at! I own a 290x yes, and im in progress of investing in a AIO 980Ti when my credit card finally comes through. If you actually looked at my posts you would see ive been looking at a hybrid 980Ti. Suits me huh? why dont you grow up first before pointing the finger.

My point is too many people jump in AMD threads to have a go at them, make fun and generally troll and bait AMD owners. That's what's terrible in this sub section. It does happen vice versa but a lot less often.

Silver Lake are a shrewd company who see something good in the future of AMD- not to sell them off etc

I do agree that people seem to come on and Troll AMD or talk about them as if its all doom & gloom but in reality it isn't

I look forward too seeing the new Zen CPU's and I actually think the latest Gen of Gfx Cards are good but the distribution shortage is very poor which leads to AMD getting a lot of Flak & deservedly so

The 390 beats the 970 in that price bracket but Nvidia still has the edge at the High End

It is interesting to see what happens with DX 12 both in the CPU & GPU Arenas because at the moment no one really actually knows but I am sure all will be good in the future for all of us

It is a good thing Gregster posted this as it lets people know that AMD are there as a Good thing to people who know wayyyyyyy more than people on these forums no matter how much they think that they "Know"

I like the Original post but then people just come on to add no value - tryo to keep it from going that way folks as it makes for much better reading

Possibly more to it - Charlie seems to think so:

(Unfortunately no detail without being a subscriber, but sure it will all come out over the next few weeks)

Just CD trying to lure people into buying his ridiculously expensive subscriptions and then going on a rant. No need to pay for that and many forums have plenty of ranting for free :D

I see it as a few amd owners jumping on assumptions and rumours in amd threads and taking it to mean its fact, i am not surprised many amd threads get nvidia owners posting in them as most of amds talk is about the future or something that has not happened yet.

The same can be said for Nvidia threads, although there is a lot less of an opportunity as Nvidia is all about now, not the future.

NV talk more about the future than AMD.

We have to rely on tapeout leaks to get any info about AMD's next stuff. NV started talking about Volta years ago and it won't be out until 2018 maybe.

Thats my point, there are no threads on volta being 4x the compute power than the equivalent amd card.

Im not saying that some things turn out to be correct, but a lot of it is hot air, yet on here you would believe that to have the best for dx12 games , you get the best with amd.

That doesn't make sense... really not sure what this "point" of yours is.

Amd users make and post in Amd Threads that 9 times out of 10 are debunked a day / week / year later.

Nvidia users make and post in Amd threads to show that they are not right 9 out of 10 times ( with some gloating it has to be said ).

Nvidia have more solid information based on Now. ( except the 970 vram )

Amd have more rumour information for the future which turn out to be false more times than not. ( Fury X Overclockers Dream / Dx12 is best on GCN and outperforms Nvidia massively / Nano will blow your socks off and wont Empty your wallet )

Thats three to one right there ^

Whether that is the fault of the review sites as well as Amd PR i do not know but its the same every time something new is around the corner.
