The labour Leader thread...

All I want is a option to vote for who is electable and centrist. Looks like labour won't be that option.

I don't think Corbyn will be leader for that long tbh. I think he'll exit before or soon after the next election.

If one party fits the bill for centrist, then why bother having other parties?

Pointless system.

At the rate the Conservatives are going it'll be "welcome to North Korea Britain" on 2020.

That said, perhaps the Labour Party will now get a spine and stop some of the policies getting through.

Because some people don't want the very conservative right leaning gov we have and don't think the sharp shift left is right for the country at the present time either?

Yes and it'll be a similar situation. They'll be defeated and he'll resign afterwards. That's assuming he can even unite the party to have a reasonable election campaign to start with.

You shouldn't write the guy off before he's started. Lets see what he does first.

Now, the big question is who in Labour will work with him. BBC ticker saying Shadow Health Minister Jamie Reed resigns, but not why. Presumably, it's this leadership change.

No party is just the leader. Who JC wants, and can get, in his shadow team will be .... illuminating.

TBH. All of the people saying they'll resign/refuse to work with Corbyn are the worst of New Labour anyway. A bunch of mouth pieces for careerism and spineless puppets for neoliberalism. Good riddance.

I think people predicting Tory domination are getting ahead of themselves. The electorate are very unpredictable and a Corbyn led party could attract back a lot of the hardline left voters that left Labour in the general election.

I'm not a huge Corbyn fan but it will be nice to have some actual opposition and ideological differences in politics for once.
