Wot the! - peeps are already hitting 170?

I only had one chance to fire up the game since ver 2.0

Hunter = 137
Warlock = 136
Titan = 136

Kinda lost as to what to do in the meantime, not had chance to read up and it all looks a bit confuzzling now! :(

The fully upgraded version will be 170 but as they are only year 1 versions they will soon be underpowered (for The Taken King stuff). Bad Juju gets a year 2 version at something like 240.

Legendary marks shouldn't be too hard to get especially with the removal of the weekly limit. I used to have about 50k glimmer in the vault but ending up spending it all trying to get engrams and weapon rolls.

How are you so low :confused: If you have maxxed weapons and armour they are all 170. Only thing that brings you down is class items and ghost but you can buy a new ghost from the speaker and you get a class item when you complete the quests. Even with a 3 light ghost and 150 class item my, maxxed armour and un-upgreaded weapons my hunter is 151 light.

Yeah but you need something like 150 for every year 2 weapon upgrade you want and 125 for every year 2 armour upgrade.

Sounds like his armour is not upgraded with etheric light.
 
See as a new player the one thing the game doesn't do past the story is get you going for endgame.

Im out of story and missions at 32. That's ok because bounties and the strike playlist will finish the rest i presume.

Im at 126 Light, but in terms of what the game tells me about this is pretty much nothing.
Because it would appear the raids available are of an eaiser difficulty than the weekly strikes which i presume change difficulty the higher the light rating?
 
So this new quest for the hunter ie gunslinger one where u have to do a strike and kill 3 majors with the golden gun is a bit dumb. Trying to do it with some randoms and the muppets just kill everything in sight even though I've told them to leave them for me as I need it for my quest. But nope don't listen so I must have jumped in and out strikes at least 10 times now lol.
 
Why not do the sepiks strike as near where you spawn in 2 yellow bar vandals spawn (sometimes it is a captain and three dreggs) but kill them run away and come back and they respawn. Easy 3 kills and shouldn't have too much trouble of randomers killing them as they aren't part of the strike.

Edit: Unless you need to kill all 3 with a single golden gun then do sepiks, sparrow to the steppes and kill the 3 hive underneath near where you spawn in on patrol.
 
Managed to get it done on the omnigul strike lol. At least these randoms listened and were more than happy to spawn orbs for me to pick up and charge my super up.

Btw managed to do a new strike called the dust palace...pretty decent strike with these new Psion flayers.

Edit: yayyy a new gunslinger cloak that I cannot use till I hit level 40 lol...along with my new bladedancer cloak which again can't use till I hit level 40:p.

Was the dust palace a ps exclusive then? One of my least favourite strikes due to needed every element weapon and randoms usually being rubbish at it.

On a side note, I just realised that while strikes and pvp isnt giving out marks public events still are. I just got 4 for doing one though don't know if it is per one or only first one a day. 4 vangurds isn't much but for people like me who only 10 marks it might be useful.

Edit: It is 4 marks per public event :)
 
So what should I be doing to prepare myself for TTK. Haven't played since vanilla and got this last night and I've already gone from lvl29 to 34. Still using all my old guns though.

you don't need to do anything.

in fact there is nothing you can do apart from bounties and store them.

i just did the nightfalls and the weekly and that's it. apart from a bit of crucible.

if you want something to do, go collect all the ghosts or do the quests, but they aren't essential.

the way this game has worked in the past is it's been very easy to hit max level after the first DLC within a couple of weeks. i imagine this one will be the same since it's based on XP. your at 34 and the max level is 40. so that is 6 levels you need to rank in xp, i doubt that should take anyone more than a couple of weeks of normal play.
 
I was hoping to get some better weapons etc. What should I be doing to give myself the best chance of that. I have briefly been following stuff on here and keep hearing about shards, etheric light etc

Im playing under the assumption that there is no point. Im expecting that duie to the gear being capped at 20 and the level cap raising to 40, that you will lose your current gear pretty quickly when TTK goes live.

Im just doing things to rep up factions.
 
The better weapons and armour will be coming Tuesday. You could do the three night falls, the heroic strikes and/or keep doing prison of elders to get some coins to buy things off Xur.
