*** The Official Destiny Thread (now includes 2.0 and TTK) ***

Cheers. I assume that weapon damage has had the same applied to it? What is good damage for a weapon now? Base damage I mean.
Just to make things even more confusing... although ~170 is the high end damage right now, that will change to be ~280 on Tuesday, and (I assume) 310 on Friday once the new Raid is available.

This is straight up ridiculous. I haven't done the new raid yet but the content feels pretty thin for 2 expansions. I think I have done a fair bit of it already and I only got them yesterday.

You've missed a fair bit of the magic that comes with doing new content when it has just been released. Nobody knows what the hell they are doing or where they are going and you wipe 56336 times on a raid before you are able to clear it :p

To be fair there isn't a massive amount of content and I would probably feel cheated if I had paid full price for the DLCs. I still feel I get my moneys worth but when you compare the amount of content you get in the base game to the DLCs it doesn't add up.

Fast forward a few days. You've got to level 40 and have 150 legendary marks in the bank. Which of the Year 1 weapons or armour are you going to spend those marks on first to get a Year 2 version?

I'm going with Bad Juju. Love it.

You can blitz through the story missions for the DLCs in a few hours. That's not really what the endgame is about though. You got 6 rotations of PoE 34 to figure out (which are a pretty decent challenge at first, although the rewards are poop), the raid obviously, and Trials of Osiris which is what kept most people playing in the runup to TTK.

What time are we expecting TTK to land tomorrow, will it be 10am GMT?

Would be cool to hook up with some of the regulars on the Xbone to explore the new content together.

Right guys I've just managed to get some time to get ready for launch, what do I need to do??

I've just been collecting the daily public event packages and I might hoarde some bounties from tonight for the XP. There are also the sub-class quests that you could crack on with. Give me a shout if you're on as the final parts involve super use in strikes and they're easier to do in a fireteam (i.e. I need help with them haha!).

Side note....noticed I hadn't done one of the weeklies this morning, thought I'd crank it out over breakfast.

PAIN. Omnigul no burn for starters...but the main problem is there is no light level guide on it, and the other guys hadn't bought their ghost from the speaker so were at 154 ish and just getting squished all the time. Took over an hour :/

Looks like some Taken patrols are triggering already. 220+ light though, ouch. Notice the taken vandal popping a bubble shield!

I will be on tonight so can give you a hand, I need to do the orb generation on my titan first but then have the strike section of the quest to do on my titan and hunter.

I do hope they change how the levels are listed, obviously we can work it out that level 34 is 170, 33 is 165, 32 is 160 etc. but it would be nice if it was detailed so selecting a new mission or stike it says 170 light rather than level 34.

I did the weeklies over the weekend as I don't have a massive number of coins. I joined a couple games where people were 150 light but backed out of them until everyone was 160 or above. I don't have the patience to deal with trying to drag underlevelled people through a strike like Omnigul.

So what should I be doing to prepare myself for TTK. Haven't played since vanilla and got this last night and I've already gone from lvl29 to 34. Still using all my old guns though.

you don't need to do anything.

in fact there is nothing you can do apart from bounties and store them.

Sonny is partly right and partly wrong here (like usual). You don't NEED to do anything. There are however some things you can do to get ready for The Taken King.

1. Go and visit your Vanguard mentor and pick up the sub-class quests for both of your sub-classes (on all 3 characters if you have them). Then complete the sub-quest.

2. A bit late now, but you could've been stocking up on Public Event rewards and leaving them at the Postmaster for a bunch of free XP tomorrow.

3. Edge your factions and the Cryptarch. That way a single bounty/engram will push you over and give you some nice easy loot tomorrow.

4. Pledge to a faction now so that any missions you're undertaking gives them XP as well as the Vanguards.

5. Go to the Abandoned Quests kiosk and pick up the House of Wolves quest line. Completing this (takes an hour) will get you the Vestian Dynasty and two glimmer consumables worth 7500 glimmer. You can do this on all 3 characters giving you 22,500 worth of glimmer consumables you can sit on ready for whatever needs it.

6. Stock up and complete 16 bounties on all 3 characters so that you have a big boost of XP waiting to get you to level 40.

7. Go visit the Gunsmith and grab the test weapons from him and use them. You'll want him ranked up so you can potentially order a new weapon from him this week.

These are just the ones that popped into my head. Plenty to do to keep you busy.

How long do we think it will take to hit level 40 then? I've got a load of 3 and 5k bounties stored up ready, 5 focused lights and the exotic class item, but a part of me is hoping that it takes a good while. If everyone's 40 in a week they'll just be moaning that they're out of content again by the end of the month

Anyone else feel level cap at 40 is only going to take a few hrs?

Had a mate on other day just ticked over to level 33, Two crucible matches later he was 34.

The exp gained seems to be too much atm, is it something they have done to help everyone get to 34 before tomorrow?
