*** The Official Destiny Thread (now includes 2.0 and TTK) ***

Lots of marks available from quests....check which ones have marks as rewards, usually get 25 from em.

Apart from that I've got quite a few from dismantling gear.

I'm not aware of the quests I have at the moment drop marks. I will have to check when I get home.

On the subject of quests - what is the point of the crucible quest? I did the five steps and got offered a rubbish green weapon :( Also the chaperone exotic bounty it hard! Highest I have manage is a massive 1% :D

Anyone completed the Defender or Striker quests for the Titan? I held off on them with all the confusion across forums about it, I completed the Defender quest yesterday and I got my mark but no emblem. Luke Smith mentioned there would be additional steps to do once TTK dropped but I didn't receive anything extra from Zavala? It just ended the quest.

I didn't know there was an emblem, I completed my Warlock and Hunter pre TTK but haven't done my titan since TTK. I thought the clarification around additional steps was in respect of unlocking the new subclass.

Edit: Actually I did get an black tiger emblem but can't remember what it was for. Pretty sure it was walking round the tower collecting everything as when I first went the tower after TTK.

The weekly crucible quest chain is supposed to give nightfall level rewards...haven't had a chance to do them yet though.

Don't know why people are complaining about vanilla not having access to all the new paid content? Is anyone here actually just on vanilla, or is this just a rhetorical whinge? Vanilla end game is VoG and vanilla players have all they need to beat it. What's the problem? Can't get legendary marks? Err what exactly were they going to spend them on? Gear they can't equip?

Is it just my install, or has anyone experienced random SFXs missing? Like when I was doing Level 28 PoE yesterday, I was constantly not hearing my AR shots for example.

Just now I was handing in some engrams, and I did not hear the usual SFX when you decode them at the Cryptarch.

Yeah I have been getting this. I noticed it on the cryptarch as well.

On another note, I have found a couple of legendaries in the wild but they don't go into my inventory. Turns out they are relics for the ******* gunsmith. Here, have 3 motes of light for a legendary pulse rifle. **** you gunsmith, **** you

You get a big bunch of rep for handing it in too. Rank 3 gunsmith starts off an exotic quest chain.

Really liking all the different quest chains around, so much more to do, actually have to pick and choose.

Did the first part of the shipwrights chain and got the new tumbler sparrow. One step is to complete a the Shank strike in less than 17 minutes....cue much yelling at screen at random matchmade teammates!

Seems to be a little debate on the 'fairness' of the TTK and the fact it kinda ends the vanilla game by not allowing the player to progress past a certain lvl, 34 is it?

My take is that if you buy DLC you want to have access to a great deal more content than those sticking to the vanilla version but I do appreciate the game and DLC so far at market value is around £120 which some people just can't afford and it does seem a little unfair that people will be missing out on a game they probably love because of an almost subscription based concept.

My question would be that if you, like me, are buying the DLC when it comes out and ploughing several hours into it, would you be ****** off if next year, Bungie gave all the previous DLC, DB, HoW, TTK to the vanilla players for free and did this yearly? I think I would be a little annoyed that I had paid for the new content on pre-order/release but that would be my decision to do so and I wouldn't begrudge Bungie for doing it provided the day one people maintained some form of 'supremacy' over the vanilla players.

Wouldn't bother me at all. The way I see it, I'm paying for the continuos development of a game I thoroughly enjoy, and if those less fortunate than myself get to enjoy it for free a few months / year(s) later then all the best to them. I also require no "supremacy" over the newer folks, I hope they can all enjoy the game as much as I have and all enjoy the content I have access to, each and every single piece of it (cept xbox players :p).

Taking WoW as an example, the base game was £40 (token amount, could be more or less), then TBC (xpac 1) was another £30 on top of that (again token number), and every subsequent xpac after that another £30 each. WoW is currently on it's 5th xpac (correct me if I'm wrong) so that'd be £190 for all of it. For the sake of comparing to Destiny, I'm not taking the monthly sub in to account.

Niw when you've got shelves full of games at £50 each and suddenly a £190 game next to it, I think a lot of gamers will vote with their wallets and Destiny will die. I'd rather that Bungie package the game and all previous DLC as a bundle and sell it cheap(ish) than the game die out, a bit like WoW has done with their Battlechests.

I get my "supremacy" from knowong I was there from day one, I don't need a fancypants gimmick to show it off ;)

Interesting. The restorative mind strike doesn't always have the same enemies on the way there. I assumed they did.

quick question on the vanguard and crucible commendations - I have several and and i have the option to use and increase rep in both - are they safe to consume (as in I'm not going to get bit later by not having them??

*edit - i just used them anyway. Think i got 250 per VG/Crucible and 100 on NM for each I used :)

the way they are working DLC now your progress gets wiped everytime a new one launches.

the only things that you get to boast about your supremacy are shaders, emblems, sparrows, ghosts, etc.

basically stuff which doesn't give you any advantage.

this comes part and parcel with a pc MMO but the thing is those games have far bigger worlds with far bigger expansions. had they told everyone day 1 that you would have been sitting here now having to grind for hundreds of hours to be on a level playing field in the crucible as well as pay £120 for the content we currently have, i think everyone would have laughed at them.

put it this way had you not grinded for the thorn bounty the past 9 months you would have been at a HUGE disadvantage in the crucible.

I've had so much fun with this the past couple of days. I'm up to 277 light now, and I have the Boolean Gemini exotic scout rifle that you can get from a Petra quest line. Got some awesome blue armour that's over 280 in defence, and I've got the Warlock exclusive fusion rifle from the Gunsmith. Looking forward to trying the nightfall tonight, I think it's going to be a damn good challenge.

Well been playing this since launch and have to say I'm completely and utterly blown away at just how much content there is. Is it worth the price?? Definitely and much better value than the previous 2 DLC's.

Still rather confused with certain aspects of the new DLC but getting to grips with it. Some of the missions are pretty difficult but I'm liking the new way of how the levelling works now.

Will still come back and comment more on my thoughts on TTK but so far so good.

Is it possible to shoot off the big red laser gun and the little machine gun that are on the Fallen walkers? I know you can shoot the turrets off a skiff but have never ever seen it done a walker, even though they flash with damage when you fire at them.
