lol
Was adamant he'd get 500 quid off or get his deposit back, ends up getting no money off (effectively) and having to go out his way to do the garages job for them.
How to not buy a car kids, pay attention
??
Was listed at £8500.
I will be paying £8300
Over all that's a £200 saving.
They also will be refurbing Two Alloys again correctly, and allowing me to get the Tracking done on their account at kwickfit (good cus they have hunter systems) Not to mention doing a £350 service for me included when I was originally told it wasn't included.
I'm happy with that result to be fair.

So in short you've managed to get £100-£130 off the car once you deduct the cost of a new tyre. Not quite the £500 discount or walk away but better than nothing!
Nothing else you have put (service/tracking/alloys) is anything above what would be expected to be correct in the first place.
But this dealer actually is going out of their way to do things to make me happy, which to be frank is completely new to me. Is it simply because I'm spending more than £3k?
They have been very good all the way through and their warranty seems to cover the stuff i was worried about, Such as the 2.2D Mazda Camchain issue which is 100% covered and I have that in writing.
Will you get the deposit back if you don't buy the car?
The Bose Speaker system in the car is unreal!
At that price point you would expect a dealer to sort out any problems, otherwise why else would you be paying more than the equivalent private sale?
Dealer won't be doing any more than they have to, whilst still ensuring there is money in the car.
Warranty won't be worth the paper it's printed on - whether you have it in writing or not.
Why do you believe the warranty won't be worth the paper its written on?
Because the warranties I have been offered in the past, had enough exclusions, asterisks and "wear and tear" clauses, that you would be lucky to claim for anything that actually mattered.
By all accounts Main Dealer warranties (such as Audi and BMW) are pretty good value, especially on the higher end/performance models.
I assume your Inchcape warranty was the platinum one, as the standard one doesn't seem to cover much (and doesn't include the EGR Valve)
I'm not against warranties by any means, however you should double check that a warranty covers what you think it does.
