My new ride : BMW Z4 35i

If you think an extra 7-8 weeks is a long time to wait for a delivery, then don't ever order an Audi!

It has been going on since early June and has been one disaster after another with 1 wrong delivery, 4 failed deliveries and zero explanations or apologies from Honda throughout. Even the latest 14th October isn't confirmed and would have most likely been ignored.

Shockingly bad for a company that supposedly prides itself on the Honda Experience and then tells you to sling ya hook when you complain. Lucky escape and confirms to me I was right to cancel and complain

Working it all out in my head, the whole mess cost me about £1250 + costs which Honda have zero interest in even acknowledging.

Honda are terrible. I've owned 1 Honda and vowed to never buy another based on my experiences with their dealers. I don't rate their cars highly either.

I think this car looks great, love the color and I don't think it is a hairdresser car... the only think I don't like is the red interior, I was looking for some S2000 and many of them have red interior as well and that would pull me off.

Don't think it's the wait he is annoyed at, it's the constant delays and the lack of information. I waited months for my A3 but it arrived more or less when expected and the dealers always knew what was happening.

I used to hate the Z4 but it's grown on me, looks amazing with the hard top. Much better choice than the Type R and no doubt it's more fun.

Why does it take "months" from ordering to receive a new car anyway? If I wanted to buy a new car and the salesman said "yes sir it will be ready in 4 months" - I'd walk out.

It takes Audi 3-4 days to actually build a car. What are they doing for the remainder of the time?

Mine was a lease renewal so the order took longer so the car wasn't waiting around needlessly. From what I was told it sounds like the UK just isn't allocated as many build slots as other countries are. I think 3-4 weeks is the normal time depending on demand, salesman also mentioned something about ships only coming in so many times a month.

I'm amazed people tolerate it. If people stood up and said no, they'd have no choice but to buckle up. But I imagine the majority don't care as it's all about the new reg innit :p

Well found the Honda UK Facebook page and set it alight. Seems there about 4 or 5 others on there that in the same position with the Type R and Honda are just ignoring it completely.
Cars are sat in Warranty Validation for over 5 weeks.. mmmm, something wrong with the Type R, must be safety if they are not releasing them to the public. Glad I am out.

Asking all others on there to send me details if they want me to ask the press to contact them about the problem as well.

Just had a call with a journalist from an auto magazine who is taking the case up with Honda UK. Let's see if they stone wall them.

1) They aren't just building your car - there is a queue ;) I've been waiting 5 months since my order (30th April) and the car isn't even built yet. (w/c 5th October)
2) Delivery lead time is also based on the number of same model vehicles ordered from that dealer.
3) it usually takes a minimum of 4 weeks after production is complete to ship the car to the allocated UK site. Then the dealer usually takes 2 weeks to register, prepare and release the car to the owner.

Ive got an 2015 Focus ST3, thought i was bored of the Z4!

Its a lease deal which end this time next year, can not wait to get rid and get a proper car back.
