Hi guys

After some advice..

Bought a 290 pcs from ocuk and returned to ocuk and ocuk confirm it's faulty

They are sending the card off for repair and can take up to 28 working days

Now I was under the impression ocuk provide the warranty service for 2 years as stated by the below thread
http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18571601

Now I am being told the turnaround is only for 28 day doa only however this thread does not confirm that to be the case

Simple question am I right or wrong?

Your link is broken, but if its the thread im thinking of, it wasn't put together by shop staff but by a well meaning forum member

Edit; no different thread, yeah looks like you've been misled, post in the CS section and try to talk to Bailey

Yeah that defo reads as an upto 72 hour turnaround with ocuk for 2 years.

I think this warranty lark is getting misleading, maybe we need clarification from Gibbo on each brand sold as to what their warranty covers and for how long you could be without a card.

2yr Advanced Warranty: OcUK 48-72hr turn-around which OcUK deal with

Quote it to them and make them honor it, threaten to take it to your card issuer if they don't. (It isn't just a threat as you can do that)

You are 100% right OP. This sadly seems to be happening often with OcUK recently, someone needs to sort it out.

I imagine that it'd be pretty easy for OCUK to say that service was only for certain models or for a limited time though. Unless you had some sort of proof that it was advertised on the product page for that particular card, I don't think you'd have a leg to stand on.

It was advertised with products that were on the forum, which is used as an official means of advertising and customer service. So i say the OP is right on this one and it is mis-advertised. He could also go to the ASA if he wanted to.

I'll see what they come back with today as i reiterated the 2 year "advanced warranty" at no point does it stipulate it's for DOA period only which begs the question why advertise it as a 2 year "advanced" warranty

i remember seeing thread before i purchased the card thinking it was a really good buy

im not overly fussed with it being resolved within 72 hours.. but i'm not going to wait 28 working days..

i will raise it with trading standards if i don't get a satisfactory outcome :)

It's easy to promise fantastic warranties to get bottom rung vendors like powercolor to sell some voluke and then forget about it in 18 months once the sales are made.

Sad but true.

ok i get that

but it doesn't change the fact thats what has been advertised by an official rep

and if those terms changed hypathetically speaking then ammendants or an announcement should have been made confirming this type of service for that particular manufacturer can no longer be offered.

what i am told is, it doesnt mean it has a 2 year "advanced warranty" and the 72 hours applies to 28 day DOA period only.. which is completley misleading..

It seems to have been a common theme for a while here, which is why I unfortunately don't make any big purchases from ocuk. Good luck with getting it sorted op
