Forza 6 announced

I read the same about the G920 as I was going to get one too. Ended up going for the Thrustmaster TX 458 Italia. The only thing that has put me off the Thrustmaster are the pedals but I've ordered an adapter to run some Clubsport pedals with it too so I'll be ordering those when it arrives.

Also, the Bathurst rivals event is epic. I'm useless on the pad but have somehow managed a 2:10.8 which has put me in the top 200 of 25,000. I've been able to do a 2:09 but clipped a wall slightly on my way up the hill. Even though I'm not a Ford fan (Volvo all the way ;) ) it's a really nice car to drive. Good prize too if you get picked.

As for Fanatec support, you're going to be in for close to £1k if you want one of their setups for your XB1. Not sure what they were thinking. They've gone from affordable to pretty daft with their latest iteration.

The cheapest I can find the TX 458 in Stock is £315, so will go for that and try the pedals. My first wheel so nothing to compare to. The only negative reviews were due to the motors burning out...

think those were the early days, they have updated their firmware a few times :)

as soon as you get it, go to thrustmasters site, update the firmware to the latest one! fan speed management is improved etc! so the motors get cooled properly, I recently went from their 48.xx firmware to 49.xx and the fan is way quieter now.

Nice, thanks for the tips. Is it easy enough to get better pedals separately if need be?

depends what you go for, if you want something like logitech pedals then you'll need to dig through ebay etc to see if you can find anyone selling them separately! but if you want something official from thrustmaster then you can get say, these -;

and just plug and play :)

things like logitech/fanatec require an adapter, had to get mine from USA and that took like 3 weeks to arrive.

Can anyone let me know where the best (and cheapest) place is to get this today? Xbox store is £49.99, CDKeys download is £44.99. Anywhere cheaper?

Ok, so there is better ones from thrustmaster.

yup! I'm sure you will find the ones that come with it fine, I played with them for 3 months before getting the adapter for my g27 pedals, simply because I had g27 pedals and knew that I liked them more due to heavier brake, but you can do this -;

and get pretty much the same result.

I got my standard digital copy for £27 as there was a sale on the Singapore Xbox store for gift cards, $70 worked out at that.

Details were in a HotUKDeals thread.

My impressions of F6 haven't gone up by much from the demo which I thought was poor, career mode is still like flogging a dead cat, so glad I didn't end up paying full price.

Just started this today. Really enjoying the racing.

I don't know if it's a bug but.. My first two driver level "spins" I got 1 million credits on the first level spin, and a lotus formula one car on my second level spin :eek: handed on a plate!

The drivetrain/diff bug has ruined the lower classes. A 1984 Fiesta with a drivetrain swap and race diff set to 0% Accell will go from 0-100 30 seconds faster than stock. No other upgrades, just a different drivetrain and diff.

I got 2 Mazda's in my first spins :(.

Really enjoying the racing too, but the way they set up the career is really poor. No structure to it and nothing to really aim for. The spins do spoil it a bit, getting free cars every couple of races defeats the point of try to win races to earn credits, in order to save up and buy better cars. Still good racing though.

I think I got the same. Definitely got the F1 car, which is a beast with no assists by the way! :eek:

Was playing this again last night, I really hope they do something about the engine volume levels, that is by far my biggest gripe at the moment, manual gears off the line is way too quite, no matter what view you use.
