Forza 6 announced

Ouch. Wait until you start the endurance races! I got the game a week early as I ordered the ultimate edition and am currently progressing through volume 2. If you just mainly concentrated on the 'career mode' what driver level did you reach by the end?

Couldn't say for sure without looking but I think it's around 35/36.

Been addicted since Forza 3, not so much to 5 which I didn't enjoy, but with 6 I got it yesterday and as always the first thing I done was turn off all the assists etc. I set the drivatar difficulty to expert (I think?) and hammered the AI every time. So I will up that a bit more, but it leads me onto my main gripe I have sort of had since Forza 4 in that everything seems to be too "easy" and absolutely by now is handed to you on a plate.... I don't mean the ease of beating the AI, I mean the ease of getting cars and credits.

I remember in Forza 3 there were times I was desperate for a car, or to upgrade something on my current favourite car and I would have to go in and actively do a few of the race events purely to save up enough credits to buy some upgrades. I remember the really expensive 500k credit cars and what have you appearing to be almost an impossibility to get without putting hours and hours in and saving up..... With Forza 6, I am driver level 6 or something now and already have near a million credits and about 20 cars in my garage, 15 of which are useless and I will sell for some more money.

I liked that whole being skint, having to put hours in to get credits and cars, it felt more rewarding to me and I enjoyed that element of it. Really has been gone since 3 and possibly a little in 4. I know some people would have hated that side of things, these games can't please all of our tastes but I do miss that element of Forza and wondering if anyone else remembers it that way and misses it?

I completely agree. I want to have to race hard and feel like I'm earning upgrades and new cars. I suppose it's a case of throwing free stuff at people who may have short attention spans to keep them interested, so they don't move onto the next game.

I also agree I have only just started the second set of races and have 1.6 million in credits and can buy pretty much anything. The sense of achievement is a bit lacking.

I managed to get through all the Volumes without buying a single car. I won them all. Including 2,000,000 credit Formula cars.

I rarely play career mode, i just prefer building random things and ripping them on random tracks, be it sidways or TT's! :) so grinding for money would be boring in my case, it's easier this way but there should be an option to allow you to select how QUICKLY you want to earn and I guess there should be an extra difficulty selection, where you could say, select hard and the money-earning/prizes would be reduced by like 80%

Glad it isn't just me!

grudas, I agree. I go through times where I want to buy a heap of cars, upgrade the hell out of them and tune them to get to a point I am happy with them, which involves burning through credits without a care in the world. But would prefer that seperate from the career mode possibly.

I think it all boils downs to them trying to make this an accessible game for everyone rather than a difficult pure simulator. Forza 3 had that vibe, so with 4 they added more assists and made things easier so anyone could try and jump on it and make it a game for them, rather than it being for die hard sim racers only. Overall you have to say they are doing that well and they cannot keep everyone 100% happy, I can live with the credits/cars things being WAY too easy, it's still a superb game, just my only gripe with it really and again, glad to see it's not just me being a grump about it :P

I'm getting a bit bored of every race pretty much going the same way. I always end up second chasing the leader who's car seems miles faster and better handling than all other cars. I come second by a huge amount but rarely catch the lead car. Adjusting the difficulty makes little difference.

Ahh interesting comment. I would agree Forza has been 'dumbed down' slightly but it's many different things to different people.

For some people having a big collection of cars in the garage is what they want and they probably wouldn't sell any of them. Others they may use a few cars exclusively.

I think I'm completely the different here :) I wanted to try lots of different cars so sometimes bought a few different cars for each set of races.

My most expensive one was the Can Am though, I wanted to try them all so spent about 5 million in game and apart from the first couple of races I used a different car each race in that series

I also think credits are thrown about willy nilly. (although, this isn't ruining my enjoyment, it just means i can afford a couple of cars in each class which is good)

Gone are the days of the likes of the original gran turismo, which had you grinding for hours to save up 80,000cr for a dodge viper GTS race car. (i actually did this, turns out it was a waste, as the car was pretty crap, d'oh) :p

I don't really mind having too much money. It just means you can buy and tune any car you want to ridiculous amounts of powah :D

I do agree to some extent on the AI car which is in first place.. it seems to have souped up acceleration, grip and turning abilities. It certainly takes some aggressive racing to over take it!!

The hardest races i've done so far are the "track toy" races. Damn that was intense. I tried it first with a caterham, as i thought it'd just own everything. Boy was I wrong.. You literally cannot accelerate without the back end doing the cha-cha, haha, the car was all over the place. Instead i went with the new Exige. Even then, first palce was very hard to get to, and overtake (i couldnt quite understand, as the leader was in the older elise)

Don't get me wrong, I like having heaps of decent cars, but for example last night I got some PoS Lambo 4x4 monster thing. I honestly couldn't give a hoot about it, same with lots of the American rubbish such as hummers. You get the idea. There is a lot of junk can take up space in your unlimited size garage :p Vauxhall's and 329 of the 335 included Audi's in the game etc etc.

Haha that big lambo is awesome! OK It's totally useless for the track and pretty much pointless in the game except for the fact it's just ridiculously cool. :)

I imagine driving one of those in real life it would be lots of fun though (providing you own shares in a fuel company)

And then people complained about to many pay walls and game purchases and no in game currency...they cant win.

So I finished all the volumes..

So I thought.. then it tells me I can do them all again with all the classes. A quick calculation tells me that's 450 races.

5 volumes with 6 different classes and 15 events per volume. 5x6x15=450

I've not even looked at the Showcases yet or online.

Nearly, there are 498 races. Some volumes have 17 or 18 races :) So after the first run through, just another 415 races to go ;)

Just finished the first pass through the Volumes, ended with 10mill in the bank and at level 40, now I'm going to have a look at the Showcase events. Im loving the game so far, the different handling characteristics of the different layout cars is great, not entirely sure about the point of the "Mod" card system, as using anything useful invalidates clean laps so they aren't recorded on the leaderboards.

I dont even use the mods, I keep winning them in the spin thingy but I forget to apply them so meh :o

I used the 50x unique mods for the forza rewards and have unlocked the 3x achievements you need to have certain mods for.

I sold all of the Dare mods except 'Perfectionist' (Sim damage, rewind off +50% CR) and 'Long Shot' (start 24th, rewinds off +50% CR). I use Perfectionist every race and kept Long Shot in case i fancy a challenge.

I've sold all of my Crew mods as if i get used to them in career, when i go online, racing in my cars wont be familiar as i'd be used to all the power/weight/braking/grip changes.

I just use the Boost i've got, the only ones i want from spins are 100% CR and XP for Endurance races.

I prefer the endurance races to the normal career, I've been back through volume 1 once since i completed the first run through the 5 volumes.

I stopped doing the spins at Lvl 50 (they go downhill from lvl 40), i'm going to do the lvl 51-100 spins in one go when i get there.
