*** The Official Destiny Thread (now includes 2.0 and TTK) ***

Yeah the marks for the heroic strikes only drop for the first few per week. The PvP stuff is every day though.

Fears embrace was so infuriating that I gave up the first time I tried it. Must have had 8+ goes before going to orbit. Second time I did it reasonably quickly (not easily) by taking out the orbs ASAP and then killing as many of the adds as I could before wailing on the echo a few times.

I had invective and a good machine gun which made a big difference when the going got tough though.

Its just a complete **** of a mission though. Lots of troops, poison on the floor and those stupid hanging grenades that are fine until you are running away from mobs with little health and they finish you off.

Managed to get Fears embrace done with the help of Wardyp, well actually I kinda jumped into his game and we got him on about the 4th attempt. The weapon that did the most damage was....good ole Gally :p. I fired off 5 rockets and after the last one, his health was literally a sliver left but wardyp was taking a few shots at him too. Looks like even though they nerfed the wolfpack rounds, it was still doing some damage to him.

Thank **** that we finally got it done, what a royal pain that last step was and the most excruciating thing about completing it was I got a choice between a crappy scout rifle and hand cannon :p. All that freaking effort and I get some rubbish weapon choice...Ffs at least could have dropped an exotic at the very least :p

Not true, I have had several instances where I've missed picking something up due to no space and it has not been at the postmaster, I have also seen occasions where engrams have dropped out of reach and have not appeared on the postmaster too.

Better file a support ticket, I've *never* seen that happen. It's only rare items and above obviously.

So that fear'S embrace quest step is a royal ****ing pain in the ass lol. Dear god trying to beat the echo is near impossible...keep getting nailed by the taken Psions. Have tried launching rockets at the echo, sniped him and even used my telesto but none of them are having much effect on him. Most of my weapons are at 290+ and my light level is 291 but yet the enemies just seem too overpowered.

not done this yet. Which quest is it ?

Is the final Echo of Oryx quest on Phobos

I gave up on the boss fight last night too and went through Kings Fall Raid instead

Seemed easier :P

lol, its pretty hard. Killing the shadow is really easy, he doesn't have much health and is easy to hit and doesn't deal that much damage. The problem is all the other things that spawn, the poison on the floor and the damn proximity grenades that are there to stop you easily just running away from things.

Kills the orbs quickly, kill the adds and set off some of the grenades when its quiet and then hit the shadow 3-4 times and its over.

Remember lads, the weapon engram is a 'legacy engram'. It will only give you year 1 attack rating weapons, quite a few people were caught by this last week so wanted to put out a reminder.

I think they said with regard to year 2 items it will either be a designated weapon or an engram each week to stop his inventory getting stale. It's a good move I think, it's the same with every expansion it's like Christmas every Friday for the first few weeks then people get bored because he's got the same stuff they already have. It might still be like that for people depending on how hard they went on the three of coins cheese but nothing much Bungie can do about that now.

Well thats a pretty crap set of stuff from Xur. Naturally he gives the one exotic primary that I already have (hawkmoon). I'm sure he will give the invective next week just to make sure I don't have any stuff that is uncommon.

Not sure whether to get the year one primary engram or just get a load of three of coins. I have a load of exotic hunter gauntlets.

I was excited for xur and hes wee'd on my parade. ****

Xur trolling hard this week.

Oh well can save my strange coins

Tempted to see what year one exotic primary I would get because I have very few but thats 39 coins for the engram then if I want to bring it up to year 2 I need it to be a weapon that has a year 2 version and then spend 150 marks to get it redone. Ridiculous.
