Ahh ok forgot that you can get marks from crucible playlists, no use to me as I'm not interested in crucible or pvp. Saying that, just spent 150 marks on the dead orbit scout rifle...got some nice perks on it.

Cool i made the right choice grabbing those then! I imagine its worth saving marks and buying gear from the vanguard people? Cant remember the name of the one im with but the supply gear with int/dis

Even if you don't like pvp, one crucible match takes 7-10 minutes normally, 15 marks a day. A lot easier than the daily story missions, you don't need to win, just finish a match :)

Oh right, ok well crucible here I come. I'm at rank 1 as it is so probably wouldn't hurt to increase that but the more marks the better as there is some armour and weapons I'd like to buy.
 
I find marks to be useless, nothing the venders are selling is any good (or I haven't already got from drops)
 
"completed" the Taken King with my son last night - enjoyed the campaign

now level 40 - whats best non-raid way to play moving forward ? so much to digest I'm a bit confused - I do struggle with this game to work out what strikes/missions are worth doing to gain coins, weapons etc

not sure why I find Destiny a bit confusing, very keen FPS player (COD, BF4 etc), and D3 player (so RPG loot finding) so should be ok but still find it all a bit non obvious

read up on the court of oryx and the runes.

Thats a good high level activity to do that doesn't need the sort of investment in time a raid does

destiny is not really a FPS game, its got so much stuff you have to figure out. The game really could do with a good thick manual to read :D

You seem to only be focussing on what you assume to be the negative changes to the mark system in the game. Just remember that the scout rifle you just bought wouldn't have been possible under the old(bad) model as it would have required crucible marks equivalent to about 30 wins. The new system is better for all bar the most hardcore players and is especially beneficial to those who only use one character. You can now earn more marks in less time under the new system and you would only earn more if you decided to play two or more characters and decided to near max out crucible and vanguard marks.
 
Wow just wow, today's daily is a real pain in the backside...regicide is the name of the daily and it's bloody difficult lol.

Anyone give me a hand finishing off oryx?? Online now.
 
It isn't as simple to earn marks now but I like the change, it gives a more varied way to earn. I think some people miss the point of vanguard gear when they say it isn't any good. Ofcourse it isn't the best but it is good, its purpose is to get you to a level where you can start getting better stuff as rewards. It is especially useful now if you have multiple characters, I only recently started my titan and by the mission you get sunbreaker (4th mission?) I am already 274 light as I used marks I earned on my Warlock.
 
Does anyone use any of the lfg sites to find other players to join? I did a google and found destinytracker.com & destinylfg.com.

They any good?
 
Right nightfall nailed, found a couple of guys whilst patrolling dreadnaught. They saw that I had a charged agnorarch rune or whatever it's called and asked if I could use it. Said no problems as long as they gave me a hand with the nf, which they did.

Got an exotic chest piece, alpha lupi for my hunter \0/.
