***The Official OcUK Lego Thread***

It's always worth keeping a list for this sort of stuff because you have to check hard so you don't get ripped off.

I have Amazon pages bookmarked for each Lego set (plus others) I currently want which I check each morning :o

Some of their short-term price drops can be staggering, £20-£30 difference over their already slightly less than RRP prices.

Yeah its all at RRP, and a lot of stuff can be had much less than that.

The Volvo was down at £120ish on European Amazon stores recently, so unless you have 3 sets you want its better buying a lone set.

Unless people want to team up and grab a group buy...

I did think about that but the postage would probably not make it worth while. Unless we got 3 x wings. I'm not sure 3 £60 sets would be worth it at rrp.

Some of these aren't really deals, so think carefully. Particularly if you have to sell the spare kits.

Red five, for example, has been available for £114 before now and its only pennies cheaper on the 3for2.

You're probably more likely to find a deal by buying through some oft he other european Amazon sites via http://brickset.com/buy/amazon

Just ordered a Tumbler from the lego shop .... looks like I'm really back on the path to my childhood days ;) Meanwhile, finished building the crawler crane and now on to the Mobile Crane.

Congrats Thundycat. Have fun building it and putting it on display !

Treated myself too and got this .....

Got my delivery today of all the series 14 minifigs. Cost me £6 more than buying them normally. The guy did a magnificent job of checking and resealing it's almost impossible to see they were opened. My son won't know.

Bet you end up buying more for Xmas ;) Lego is addictive ! Tempted to get the Le Mans set for myself too ... has got a nice B model as a bonus.

I know! I've spent a small fortune in the last 12 months. I have just got the parts together to build the 8258 crane truck so I will be building that first.

Anyone else picking up Lego Dimensions tomorrow?

Hell no, it's expensive enough as it is without starting down that dark path. The current lego games are great, there's literally no need to get involved in that. The only way I'd buy some of that stuff is if it was to get a figure that currently sells second hand for silly money. Say Deadpool, he goes for £20. If they released deadpool for a tenner and I can ignore the game but get the figure then I would do it.

The big problem with the Dimensions sets is that if you only want the figures and not the game itself, there are no instructions to build anything outside of the game.

Poor form by Lego.

Just reviewing old lego sets to sell on the bay here, to raise a bit of cash. Can anyone give me a rough idea what the old UCS X-wing fighter (7191) is worth second hand? New sets seem to be outrageously priced on the web...
