The time to grow up has finally arrived

That won't last :p

Quoted for the truth..

Mine started to sleep in from 10-12 weeks. Bed at 7pm and up around 9am. Only the last 4/5 weeks hes been waking up around 10/12 SCREAMING THE HOUSE DOWN....................... Never heard such noise.

Narrowed it down to Night terrors apparently. Manage to get him back off to sleep with a bit TLC (thats all you can do). He still wakes up after a few hours sleep and goes rest of the night ok. Sometimes he will wake up but one of those things we have to deal with:(

Sounds just like our little one. She has really been bad with them recently. Horrible.

horrible isnt the word.... Not sure if one has been invented yet. It is scary, I remember the first time he did it.. we was in shock, didnt know what to do, both tired from working etc. I never heard of NT before like i said in previous post i made, back with my first there as no internet to look things up.

Good luck as a new parent.

As one myself I can confirm all of your fears:

Your money is now required elsewhere.
Your sleep is non existent - if they sleep well to start with this WILL change.
You have NO time for games, exercise or hobbies of ANY form.

However you will still love every minute. As I certainly have.

I agree on the money & sleep - but the games/excercise/hobbies? Nahhhhhh not at all.

Six week old screaming away here, fighting sleep every inch of the way lol. Fathrhood is great, but knackering.

Congrats!!!

When my wife's waters broke at 2.30am I fired an email off to work straight away and set cover for my lessons... Prioritising of course!!

I'm not currently a dad, neither is my girlfriend pregnant. But I did have to get up at 3am this morning because the large BBQ chicken Dominos pizza and side of 14 chicken strippers weren't agreeing with my gut. So I can sort of relate.

The difference between this thread and the one a week ago where the fella lost his baby at birth.....can't really get more opposite. Still think about the words used in that other thread as I'm expecting twins with my wife at Xmas. Still....glad everything worked out ok for new dad and mum. Congrats.

Congratulations!

As parents, you will both be fine and you will love it.

I don't understand all this cliched "you will never sleep / you will never have time for this that or the other / you will have no money". You will still have all of those things, but now with the added joy of a child. It is what it is; I feel very sorry for those who complain about parenthood. I think the assumption of any sane person is that you will have some sleepless nights etc and that it can sometimes be hard work. I don't see why people have to make such a big deal about it though, unless you are completely selfish prat then there is still time for your own activities/hobbies.

Hi all, sorry it's taken 4 days to reply but Joseph Stanley Simonon was born 8lb 5oz on Saturday night. Mother and baby both doing well. Had some issues straight after birth which freaked me out, lots of blood etc and I can't handle needles and blood so I was lucky not tp keel over.

He's an absolute beauty.
