At this point I would insist on a refund. They're messing you about massively.

If you paid via card speak to your credit/debit card provider too.

Think your right, perhaps I shouldn't have accepted the bike :/

Probably doesn't help matters that I paid half on a debit, and the other on a credit card.

Trouble is; they insist the frame is the right size for me, which to be fair they would say, as the frame is now worn.
The saddle does now extend to the correct height (752mm). The bike doesn't feel right, but I've been cycling on a really small frame for 18 months. So it's bound to feel different.

It could well be the best bike I'm going to get for my body, and they just didn't get the saddle at the right height. Heck, it could be me measuring it wrong.

Credit card is the easier of the two to chargeback. Speak to the manager immediately and inform them that you want a refund (immediately) or you will be contacting your card issuer(s) regarding the item being significantly different to described.

Do it today, now. Then immediately call up your credit card issuer and start the ball rolling. Once that is done, read up on debit card chargebacks, which are perfectly possible to do but require a little more faffing with your bank.

There's no way you should be putting up with this or be out of pocket. Be proactive and get it sorted.

edit: Regarding your second post, get all of that out of your head. None of it matters. They've sold you something incorrect and messed up when you've been accommodating.

edit2: You can initiate the credit card chargeback before the manager resolves things by the way. Don't delay things when they inevitably attempt to fob you off again.

Finally got back out on my bike today but somehow stupidly set strava up for a run! I decided to take it easy on my right knee. I don't seem to have lost any progress in my fitness considering i've been off the bike for a 2 weeks, if anything, i feel better. I averaged 3.57 minutes / mile which is just over 15mph i think, and completed just under 11 miles in 43 minutes, my knee did start to twinge a bit though.

Weirdly, my seat lowered itself whilst i was riding, so i was in a bad position for the majority of the ride but didn't want to stop to adjust it. I must not have tightened the allen bolt when i changed it last.

You can change the activity type in Strava after you've recorded so you can see it as a proper bike ride.

Any chance you can try another bike shop for a second opinion?

I dont know if there is a 'right' frame for your size unless you get a custom built?

IIRC, you said your last frame was a 49cm and the reach was too long?
To get 752mm centre-top seattube length, you'd usually want a 54-56cm frame and that's going to have a significantly longer reach than a 49cm frame.

I wonder if a TT frame with road bars might be better suited? Possibly a bit low at the front though.

Well I did 9 miles on it, and my back does not agree. Back to the shop I go tomorrow :/

I've tried 6 bike shops now, I don't really know of any I can trust. Maybe it's time to get a car again :P

Good :) Don't accept no for an answer.

I'm trying to get my father to come with me. We don't get along that well, but he is a solicitor, so may come in handy.

I think I'm going to tell that to take all the accessories off as well, and send them back to me. I've spend 4.5hrs removing and re-installing it all, wheres it gone back so many times. I've got work again at 6 tonight, so not going to get chance.

So what do you guys recommend I should do?

Assuming I can get the full £3,000 back on this current bike. I have around £5-7,000 to play with, would that be enough for a custom build? If so, where do I even begin, any particular companies?

tell us what you're looking for! :) getting a custom built carbon frame is going to be harder/more expensive, steel is different but I'm assuming that you want carbon with that budget!
