Got back from Mallorca early hours Wednesday, wow what an amazing place for cycling. Ill put a few pics in the Cycling Holidays thread with some info that might be handy in the future for people.

But heres a couple for now;)

They are gorgeous, all 3 pictures, especially the goat! :D

Glad you enjoyed yourself!

I'd really love to go, but if I did I'd have the mrs in tow who doesn't leisure ride. I'm always short on holiday from work as we like 2 weeks away (get 31 days excluding bank hols & xmas). My only real option is going to be an extended weekend or such if I can sort something with some other riders... Or the other idea is to get the mrs into riding (more leisure rides & a better bike) so when we do go away (anywhere) we can get in a day or two of riding/I can ride and she won't mind/she can ride if she wants and I won't feel guilty... :D

I have a new bike :) Well a loan bike for a week. They've agreed to refund me in full, if the bike doesn't fit.

FT - It has hydraulic disc brakes :)

I'll post after I've grabbed some lunch, but sat on it briefly, and it was a massive improvement.

Awesome news :) Looking forward to seeing some pics.

what've they given you?

We were there for 8 days, me and a friend managed to get 5 mornings of cycling in without getting moaned at to much:D

That's awesome. We managed 6 days of cycling this year. By the last day we were hanging. How long were the rides? Did you have to be concious of the length so as not to get moaned at? :p

Well I'm glad I decided to just pump up my rear tyre and limp home after getting a puncture today as it took me 10 minutes of faffing around just to get the rear wheel back on :o

Never experienced any issues before but the skewer springs kept wanting to get in the way of the wheel sitting in the drop out. Removing the skewer completely, fitting the wheel and then putting it back in sorted it but I've never had that issue before. It was the first time I've had to remove the wheel since fitting my Cycleops rear skewer.

I was going to leave it in all the time but I think I'll swap it out when I don't plan on doing any turbo work.

Anyway, on one of my routes there is a short stretch of nasty speed bumps and after learning to bunny hop my bike I found that this was a much less frustrating way of getting along that stretch but is it a bad idea to bunny hop a road bike with a... 'robust' rider? :p

I'm not robust but hop my road bike with carbon clinchers up down kerbs at 20mph with no issues.

I hope frequently (couple of times a day) but mostly over a bad pothole which is around 4 foot wide (too wide to go around without checking for clear traffic) and also on one rough join in tarmac that's worse than the speed bumps on the same piece of road.

I'm quite aware of my tyre pressures, when I first started hopping, I'd hop 'everything' but I would usually be carrying my pack when commuting. Usually by the end of the week I'd have a drop in pressure, say 90 PSI down to 80. It wasn't a problem for me, as I generally check my tyres on friday/saturday before bigger weekend rides, but certainly worth noting. Now I hop less (too lazy! I push less on my commutes), I don't have the same drop in pressure.

I've never been brave enough to try and hop something as large as a kerb! Thankfully I've never needed to, although fairly sure I could if required! :D

If which doesn't? The loan or the returned one?

Canondale Synapse Disc Di2 (2015 model). Felt much more appropriate, but it's a 56cm frame as opposed to a 54.

Don't you already have a Synapse? :o

I hop a fair bit, and I've killed 4 spokes in 2 years. I weigh nearly 20kg less now though than I did 2 years ago, so hopefully I'll not break any more :p

If I hopped a curb, I'd not only snap my forks and rims, but I'd also put a sink hole sized crater in the road.

Yeah. SoliD weighs like 4kg. And that's not a typo. I wouldn't use him as a guide for anything like this :p

The loan one, if it isn't to my liking then they'll refund.

I have a Canondale, but it's a CAADX 105. Not a Synapse, and it's a CX bike anyway :)

Looks like a pretty shiny bike to be honest. Have you had another play with it? How are you finding it?

Only round the block, I'll have a proper ride at the weekend :)

The sizing is much much better. Cranks are a bit long, will need to change to 170mm (172.5mm currently).

Preffered the look of the Trek, but I love Canondale so sure I can live with it :)
