UK Lotto now only 1 week tickets

been dry. Won £25 last week and first win in about 6 months. Had 5 numbers once in first year of lottery. Thats was £5,500. You get nothing like that now for 5 numbers.

that was a great score for 5 numbers, average was £1500 back then, ~15 years ago my dad got 5 numbers.. got £500 :/

I haven't done it since it went to £2, prior to that I did one LD per draw. If I fancy it I just do the euro. There was no need to change it from a quid.

I read somewhere that the change was designed to ensure more rollovers as that is what attracts the occasional players to buy a ticket - so overall increasing the take.

The base of people who always buy a ticket every week has steadily declined, the growth they see is only when the big numbers come up as prizes.

The trick witht he lottery is to select all your numbers above 31.

That means when you do win 4 or 5 numbers you payouts are much higher.

Reason been that so many people put their birthdays on on statistically there are more numbers 1 to 12 (months) selected and then 1 to 31 (days).

The only statistic Camelot ever released in the early popular days was that if 1,2,3,4,5,6 ever came up then there would be approx 10,000 people sharing the jackpot.

You would be gutted if that was you. You think you have won a share opf £20m and find out you get £2,000 lmao

We are in trouble :( they deleted all our messages from the swearing thread.

I only just got here :( and I was having such fun! :D

freefaller was just jealous of our blossoming romance ;)

i dont really play the lotterys that much, maybe 1-3 times a month, il be sticking to the euromillions from now on though if i fancy a flutter

Oh dear. All mine are under 24

easy to check, check the results where all the numbers have been low and see how low 4 and 5 numbers and even 5 plus bonus are compared to weeks when all the numbers ahve been high.

You get at least double the payout :)

My numbers are set though coz I'm stoopid  if I change them they will win! I know it :D that's my luck.

How many of you have won something in the last 2-3 years doing it? If so how much

Also

Has anyone won anything in the last 6 months, how much?

Not counting the odd £10 or £40 low ones

Not in the last 6 months, but in 2009, I had 4 numbers which was £88 for me. (Camelot lotto).

I've been playing the Health lotto for the last 18 months. Didn't get a sniff in the first year, but 3 months ago I had a £10, a £10 and a £20 all come up in adjacent weeks.

I play the same numbers for both Camelot and Health.
