Barber or hairdressers

I've been going to the same barber for the past twenty years and every time its a coin toss as to whether I get the one who does a good job, or a terrible job.

I know I should go elsewhere, but after twenty years, I kind of feel I've comitted myself.

I go to a barber shop once every six to eight weeks and pay $10. I usually give a $2 tip but sometimes I'll give $5.

Barber. £3.50 and hes been going so long he has been cutting one customer's hair for 77 years!

I once went to a haridresser. I basically have a no 2 all over. The pouncy hairdresser did this by scissors alone. Yes i two nice cups of coffee, had an incredible sexy woman massage my head for a while and some biscuits but two hours later I was down £45 and it looked just the same as the £3.50 cut.

£20 inc tip at this Turkish fella's place called Jeff in Borough. Not your sterotypical space, you walk in and it looks proper classy. Owner offers you a drink, get your hair washed before and after and they burn your ears to get fluff out which is weird but great. Can talk if you want or just sit in silence.

Been there. It's great :D

Funny this should come up. I used to go to a decent local barbers. Number 8 on back and sides and scissors on top to match. £12 I think. But I've now moved and there's naff-all locally so I'm looking around where I work. Besides the really dodgy 'Mr Toppers' dotted around I'm struggling to find a barbers that looks trustworthy. Then I stumbled upon the Ted's Grooming Room's. £23 for a wash and cut. Anyone been?

(There is also an Aveda near my work but that's £55 for a wash and cut. Sod that :o)

Turkish barber - cut, singed ears, hairline done with a cut throat and beard line shaped, £10 including tip.

Right now - £0, as I have proper long hair again and don't need it cut.

Been to a barber on numerous occasions. Never gone back to any of them.
Went to a hairdresser when I was younger and poorer. Changed every now and then.
Went to a proper stylist when I first dyed my hair and stayed with the same place, even for just a trim, until I moved.

Whenever I've needed haircuts now (especially for specific cuts (I have weird hobbies and side-jobs)), I've always used a stylist. Maybe it's just me or my very awkward hair, but I've always gotten FAR better results from the £35+ stylists than the cheaper places... and women always do my hair better!

Neither - home + clippers + sweet-talk wife for a £0 No.0 once every six weeks or so.

Been doing that for 5 or 6 years now, got fed up of waiting in line at the barbers and at £7 - £8 a time the clippers paid for themselves in less than a year.

Mrs Tosno, does mine. Saves £9 a month I used to pay at the barbers and is a better cut. So I too don't have to leave my cellar once a month now :)

My barbers got moved into his sisters salon, I pay £10 every 4 weeks. I don't mind the small talk because I'm not socially awkward.

I go to a semi-posh barbers, pay £19 for a haircut and beard trim. Get a shampoo and stuff with it.

I like it. It's borderline expensive but it's a nice place and she cuts a good beard which not all of them are good at.
