I have recently bought the 8Pack elite tier skylake bundle. I am having some problems configuring the m.2 ssd to get windows install to detect it.

Hoping someone can help as I have tried a lot so far but nothing has worked.

What windows are you installing? You may need to boot some drivers whilst installing as m.2 isn't widley supported through operating systems yet so don't come with the drivers pre packaged.

Tried a couple more things off the back of your suggestion. Still no luck. I can't find any drivers that will make windows install recognise the drive.

I didn't really want to install windows 10 just yet because I have a windows 7 drive images that I want back on some of my hard drives. Bit lost what to do next now to be honest.

Right changed my plans now, I've installed windows 7 onto one of the other drives. I'm then going to update to windows 10 and get the key and do a clean install then recover everything I need from the system images.

Just one little problem though, windows 7 won't get updates. It just sticks on searching for updates. Tried a couple of things but again no luck. Going to clean install tonight when I get home and try again.

you will not get a key to install 10 on a clean install.

download the ISO and run the setup.exe as this will then upgrade to W10 and will save time of downloading all the updates.

i would do this

- make sure W7 is activated
- download ISO file, run setup.exe
- upgrade to W10 - make sure its also activated
- get the W10 tool and create a bootable USB stick
- clean install W10, skip both stages where it asks for a key and it will activate once online.

Oh, I thought I could use something like magical jellybean to get the key.

I will try your way sounds a lot safer ha.

Thanks for the help, will update once I've tried it.

you can try that and you will get a key but think its just a generic one. its activated by your hardware ID when the upgrade is done from your previous OS so you don't need a product key at all to install W10 unless its a bought copy.

or you could do what I did ... and buy a retail version of Windows 10 on USB3 for £86. Then no issues fannying around and you get a nice little plastic card with a retail number on it. No issues re-building your system at a future date then.

Thanks for the help everyone, 20 second boot times :)

But.... Now when I install my graphics card i get error 99 on the motherboard (Super IO initialization) and I get nothing other than fans spinning up. Read around and tried a fair bit, but still just fans spin up, error code and then AO which usually means its booted up.
