Mountune are the official tuners for Ford. So they'll be pushing it to it's limits. It was spotted in Tescos and was posted to one of the ford pages :p

Er... it's being released shortly, not sure how production is November.

Also, if it's on its second engine in 3000 miles then I'm concerned, I know people who get in their car, start it, floor it from point a to point b and the engine still has 130k miles... (this is a chevy too.... it's as bad as you think).

Think you've been told wrong or the engine is terrible.. also not sure why they'd bother tuning it if it's a test mule.
you can destroy an engine in 3k without too much trouble with proper testing. its is clearly a development car, so they could be running it too hot or off road and over silly bumps. i know of a certain white wrx sti that got rebuilt twice in the first 9k miles. it was a fully built engine running 550hp, but even so, a lot of those miles were done on the track so it got punished a lot.

Well he does have the highly desirable 2.0 TDI model. Needs an efficient way of getting all the NOx out of the exhaust system :D.

(Yes, I'm aware it doesn't affect models that old - because they weren't tested for NOx)

I guess that pretty much confirms the MP380 kit for the Focus RS.

Im intriuged to know how/why ford need a 2.3 litre for 345 whereas mercedes seem to manage 360 from a 2 litre. It seems a lot to me and it wouldn't surprise me if they dont last long before lunching their engines. Back on topic tho, i wonder if the mrs will let me part ex her st against the new rs?:D

You missed the part when he pointed out its a development test car.

How do you know when you've pushed the engine too far and reached the limit of what the engine can do ? when you blow it up of course.

Not saying that's their only method of determining if they reached maximum power, but its role is specifically to make sure that its this test car that blows up, and not customer cars.

Yeah, because road cars run around making maximum power all day, every day. ;)
