This Is England '90

Born in 89, Its interesting seeing how a lot of the fashion is still around or still heavily influences todays cultures.

watching '90 is just like walking around nottingham now

born in 89 so i was just kid through the 90s. just watched the second episode. defiantly watched them at the mini festival and got nostalgic and that “feeling“ about rolling when I was younger with my mates. nothing quite like it :).

I'm an old man, born late 1960's. I had the Harringtons (black and burgundy - I think Combo may have had a burgundy one?), the Airware, the Bomber and that was really cool as I was one of the first at school to be rudeboy/skin. I had a massive Specials patch on my Harrington, and I bought all of the 2tone singles. I swiftly progressed onto punk and I saw loads of bands (GBH, Exploited, Vice Squad, Chron Gen, Peter and the Test Tube Babies, English Dogs, Abrasive Wheels, Damned, Killing Joke and many more). This was a really exciting thing first time around, with the bands all bang in their prime. I was less and less inspired to wear a 'uniform' to be part of any gangs, as it all seemed quite daft to me. I never was into britpop or the electronic club scene.

Born in 74 so the roses, happy mondays and rave culture were (are?) a big part of my life.

As for the Combo thing, I think I heard him say I don't want to die when he saw the white guys. I think he realised he was going from a brutal kicking to a hit. In my view, Shane Meadows is better than doing game of thrones style cliff hanger reanimations of major characters.

Yup.

He'd resigned the fact to get a kicking, that he knows he deserved for what he did. He would then draw a line under it and try to patch things up with Milky.

Once he sees the two other guys as he exits the van, he realises his fate and begs for his life.

Funny how Meadows changes him from super villain to fan favourite. Stephen Graham's natural charm shines through his character.

Combo has definitely been dispatched of there is no 2 ways about it. They have done away with him and thats why milky was in such a state at the wedding. The weight on his mind at being party to a murder.

We had that teasing typical moment when lol asked milky to be honest and look her in the eyes and say he knew nothing about him vanishing off the face of the earth.

Then shaun burst into the snooker room and asked if anyone wanted a game, that part sucked, nobody plays snooker socially at that kind of event, even if you can play well its just not a done thing.

If you look back at the original movie and what he did to milky then you wouldn't have minded him being taken care of. What Shane meadows did as he is one of the best directors that we have seen at portraying working class and life scenarios, racism etc and also the charisma and superb acting of stephen graham who was outstanding as al pacino in boardwalk empire is he made us switch to liking combo and the changed man out of prison.

i disagree with milky arranging or assisting combos death but if you were milky and he almost beat you to death for no reason then you may well have considered the same but now its done and combo is dead he is wracked with guilt as hes just a normal guy not a criminal who is used to dealing with such things.
