I'm not sure exactly how much I can elaborate before I have Edward Snowden's colleagues knocking on my door.
But I'll start by explaining the use of literary devices which inhibit the use of free thought in the reader.
Headline: "Everyone thinks that Nasa is about to announce it has found aliens on Pluto"
This is a very dangerous headline to use. It starts off with "Everyone thinks". Now two thirds of people have very limited free thought initially, when these people see something prefixed with "Everybody thinks" they will be inclined to think the same thing purely because they've been told "everybody" thinks that.
OK now. Imagine conversing with someone. When would someone use the phrase "Everyone thinks"? When someone is trying to get you to believe what they said is the norm, right?
What's that got to do with over-use of alien related stories though? What is the agenda?
