One step closer to war with Russia?

I thought we were OK to do business with regimes with terrible human rights records now? If you get rid of the House of Saud then what would replace it? Islamic State probably. It'd be nice if the pro-Putin lot could get a bit of consistency in their arguments.

We were pointing out hypocrisy.

That the "humanitarian" reasons for removing Assad are basically an excuse that the US/UK hides behind.

Nobody said the US/UK/Russia must immediately stop dealing with Saudi, China, etc. But whilst they are walking hand-in-hand with regimes that routinely commit human rights abuses, it is total hypocrisy to overthrow Assad on ground of human rights abuses.

There is no inconsistency.

So if you disagree with West actions, all of sudden you become Pro-Putin?

I personally would be happy if Saudi`s would keep to themselves and would not engage in activities such as publishing and distributing extremist edition of Quran and meddling with various terrorists.

What they do in their country is none of my business, however, it seems with our help, Saudi Arabia acquired the means to do nasty things outside of its border and that is a no no.

I do not want to see Saudi Arabia in ruins as a result of "Injection of Freedom" that we have administered in Libya/Iraq/Syria... All I suggest is that we stop supporting them and work towards limiting their influence on terrorists and spread of extremist Islamic propaganda.

Wow, you just go ahead and make ridiculous assumptions and put words in my mouth. why don't you....

With regard to Syria, US policy has been stupid and counter-productive. It's made ISIS stronger. Now Russia is involved. Now Obama goes on 60 Minutes and tries to wash his hands of the whole thing.

I asked you what exactly was wrong with the actions taken in Syria and what you think would be the right actions. If you can't answer the latter you are not in the position to label the policy 'stupid'.

Yeah you point out hypocrisy when it suits you, but completely ignore the hypocrisy from the anti-western players e.g. Assad releasing loads of jihadis to go and fight for Islamic State - and this is the man you want to back? The simple fact is that there's no chance of peace in Syria with Assad in charge, the UK/US have called for an orderly transition away from Assad because of this and not because of any imagined humanitarian reasons.

I love the way the hysterical manipulators keep banging on about barrel bombs, good lord do you mean Assad is encasing explosives in metal and then dropping them from aircraft????

It's fairly obvious that our intel knew which bombs Syria had in their inventory and so built the proxies bunkers to withstand that ordinance thus they were upset that their investments started dying when Syria simply made some bigger bombs which the fortifications couldn't withstand, this made them cry and get cross at at Assad because he didn't react in the way our gamed out simulations went.

this whole thing is ridiculous...

lets face it we only know what the western media wants us to know... for all we know or are concerned we could be the bad guys. USA Military Budget is in excess of $580 billion a year... in comparison to Russia who has a budget of roughly $50 billion... hell even UK military budget pushes $60 billion

USA Military budget exceeds that of the next 9 top countries COMBINED.

We only ever hear about when Russia spy planes fly over our waters and when our airforce escorts them out of our airspace... but what about the USA with their planes that actively carry nuclear weapons on board while violating Russia Airspace... I think you will find that we poke Russia more than what Russia pokes the rest of the world.

You got a source for that?

Oh, the BBC said it was a non military toy plane, that makes it less funny lol.

*EDIT*

Now some people are saying it looks like an obsolete prototype of the Orlan-10 drone Russia uses (hence why it looks so different to the Orlan-10) lol.
