*** The Official Destiny Thread (now includes 2.0 and TTK) ***

Trying to get a higher light level by dong CoO and naturally the only 299/298 items I get are for the one thing that I got a 300 light class item for about 2 days ago. This game has a strong built in **** you mechanic.

As a few people have mentioned....once you hit 295, there's no point grinding blue/purple engrams. Just get in the raid, one run should bump you to 300, at which point you start using your three of coins to get 310 engrams and you're good.

I've levelled most of my gear with exotic engrams rather than raid gear.

hey guys, been playing this a fair bit now, got my warlock up to lvl31 147light.
Just started playing some crucible matches which raises a question for a noob like me,
I've come across whats this fire hammer thing I see people with? and how are people floating around with electric hands zapping everyone?! lol

Different classes and subclasses.

The guys floating around with the electric hands are the "Stormcaller" subclass of the warlock.

The flamming hammer dudes is the Sunbreaker Titan class.

Both require you to have the Taken King expansion. If you have it, you should unlock the StormCaller on your warlock soon enough. You get the subclass quest after completing "the coming war" story quest in Taken King.

That's your super...there are 3 different ones for each class. As a warlock you have a choice of Voidwalker which fires a big space magic bomb, Sunsinger which can resurrect you from the dead and spam grenades, and Stormcaller which is the lightning hands thing.

I'd be more than happy to have a game mode without supers tbh. Imagine if Bungie kept that 10 kill streak bounty in the banner with Stormcallers and Hammers everywhere

Poor hunters, getting the weakest new one. Karma for all the invincible blade dancers I suppose :D

Cool thanks for that.
Yeah ive got the taken king, just conpleted the vanilla part and the house of wolves part, will start the taken king part soon.

Still getting my head around everything but enjoying it all the same.

But yeah those hammers sure seem OP.

Might have to start a titan alt and use the spark of light to get him to lvl25 straight away, unless thats not a good idea?

Bare in mind the Spark of Light doesn't unlock any abilities in your tree at all.
I'm now Light 300 odd on my Titan and don't even have a complete Defender subclass maxed yet.

Worth a read - its long and Im only halfway through

The messy true story behind the making of Destiny

ps3ud0

Good read. Pretty obvious that the story had been seriously chopped up for the vanilla release though, no surprises there.

Amazed their content pipeline is so bad though. 8 hours to load a zone in the editor? Bonkers.

I hope the new model trickling out content between major releases works out though...if only for the dev's sanity. Crunching major DLC every few months is not fun. Be nice to get new questlines/missions/exotics/strikes/raids coming in every now and then.

Longshot guys but any of you xbox one players raiding tonight approx 9-9:30?

Im 295 light and still a Kings fall virgin although i am familier with the boss encounters through videos!

Nothing out of Bungies grasp allows them to have **** tools/editor - amazing issue to have really - doesnt sound like they'll have the adequate time to make improvements while hitting agreed targets with their publisher. Guess this story has only just finished its first act.

ps3ud0

It seems that rather than jump from being controlled by a big entity ad being liberated to make what we know Bungie are capable of, they ended up constrained again.
