Acer Predator X34 34" 3440x1440 IPS G-SYNC WideScreen Super-Wide ZeroFrame Curved LED Monitor @ £989.99 inc VAT

MO-089-AC_400.jpg

The 34-inch curved 21:9 ultra-wide Acer Predator X34 monitor is the world's first curved monitor with NVIDIA® G-SYNC™, providing an immersive gaming experience with minimal stutters and screen tears. DTS® sound, 2x7W speakers, a zero-frame design with a futuristic aluminum base and ambient lighting options create an exciting entertainment experience with style.

The Acer Predator X34 features a curved 21:9 UltraWide QHD (3440 x 1440) resolution IPS display panel with a 178-degree viewing angle, providing an immersive experience in games and entertainment with a broader view. It supports 100% of the sRGB color gamut, delivering accurate color reproduction desired by design professionals and photo enthusiasts for precise color matching across applications and print output.

The curved screen puts every corner of the screen at the same distance from the customer's eyes, providing a uniform viewing experience. It also presents a more immersive experience with a wider field of view and increased perceived area of peripheral vision compared to a flat display of the same size. The Predator X34 can be configured in a multi-monitor setup for an even richer gaming experience, thanks to its zero-frame design.

"Acer continues to showcase its commitment to PC gaming with the introduction of their new NVIDIA G-SYNC-enabled Predator X34 gaming monitor," said Jeff Fisher, senior vice-president of the GeForce business unit at NVIDIA. "The preferred choice of PC gamers everywhere is a GeForce GTX GPU, which when paired with NVIDIA G-SYNC technology is the only platform to deliver an ultra-smooth gaming experience across the entire spectrum of PC games."

For gamers, the Predator X34 supports multiple features that allow them to fine tune the monitor's performance, including 6-axis color adjustment enabled by NVIDIA G-SYNC, on-screen display of refresh rate, and three different aim-point icons to choose from. Users can easily identify when G-SYNC mode is on through a red ambient light at the lower edge of the monitor, of which intensity changes according to the instantaneous monitor refresh rate.

Designed with ergonomics in mind, the Predator X34 can be tilted from -5° to 35° and adjusted vertically up to 130 mm, allowing the user to adjust the monitor to the most comfortable viewing angle. It also features flicker-less technology to lessen eye fatigue for a more comfortable gaming or working experience.

The Predator X34 supports DisplayPort and HDMI inputs, and has a built-in USB 3.0 hub which supports high-speed charging of smartphones and other devices.

Asus PG279Q ROG Swift 27" 2560x1440 IPS G-Sync 165Hz Gaming Widescreen LED Monitor - Black/Red @ £749.99 inc VAT

MO-088-AS_400.jpg

The Asus PG279Q Gaming display has a maximum supported resolution of 2560×1440, also referred to as WQHD resolution. For a majority of gamers, this particular resolution is the most preferred one because of the faster GPUs you can get nowadays. They aren’t powerful enough (at least one of them) to be sufficient for 4K gaming at high refresh rates, so 1440p at 144Hz will have to do. Refresh rate means a lot more than resolution for most gamers anyways, so that is not a problem. And to top it off, this monitor is capable of reaching a maximum refresh rate of 165Hz when G-SYNC is enabled. (Only supported on GTX 960 and higher)!!

OcUK expects first shipments of this absolute stunning gaming monitor in November, stock shall be very tight and we expect limited numbers so we advice pre-ordering as early as possible to avoid disappointment and to have a monitor before Christmas.

Two of the most hottest and talked about monitors right now, so far we've already shipped over 250 units of PG279Q and the feedback is absolutely superb, it really looks like Asus absolutely nailed it with this one.

The jury is still out on the X34 but feedback from US customers looks promising and our stock is the latest revision and pre-flashed for your convenience to the latest firmware. :)

They did not last even 24hrs. All sold! :)

This ****es me off. I bet most of the people that bought these did so on credit... the monitors are a rip off at those prices. I like them a lot and I am tempted, but at those prices its doing more damage to the community than good.

Early adopters pricing. Don't worry, monitor tech is moving pretty quickly at the moment. They'll start dropping in price when competitors release similar products. Then in a few months something better will arrive and the whole cycle starts all over again.

And the world wonders why people have debt problems and the economy collapses. As long as we line the pockets of the powerful, who cares, right?

I won't purchase it at this price either, and I have my own views on the whole thing. But this particular section of the forums is dedicated to monitors only. If you want to debate socioeconomic world affairs, corporate greed, global banking cabals, etc, there are other sub forums for that.

Hmm bit of worry if anyone has a duff one and wants an RMA as there's no stock to swap...

That said I could be tempted but Im interested to hear of the reviews first.
When's the next batch of stock due in?

Wages stagnant, cost of living ridiculous, ever increasing amount of young folk having to live with parents for longer and longer, and yet **** like this flies off the shelves. Madness...

I don't know who buys all this (ever more) expensive stuff, things have gone off the scale, £400 CPUs, £800 GPUs, £1k monitors. Insane isn't the word.

Please fully star out swearing. Thank you.

This is an interesting site.

http://www.globalrichlist.net/

It asserts that earning 15K per annum puts you in the top 5% global rich list. Its plausible. Also somewhat ludicrous, right?

My point is that there are products available at most price points, this one is freshly released and at this time somewhat cutting edge in the gaming arena. Its shiny and desirable, and I can't afford it atm. But its a very minor thing. First world problems.

Sometimes I wonder if people have been living under a rock? New tech high prices. ITs been this way forever. Don't like the price then wait until it comes down.
