What isn't a CIA operation though?

The current state of the majority of the world is a result of CIA operations.

PsyOps fuelled by data from the Minerva Initiative have been damningly successful and will only increase as more and more people fuel its databases.

Even the fact that people think Windows 8 is "free" is a CIA operation.

Edward Snowden is NOT an NSA outcast, in fact he's one of the most important CIA operatives in active duty today!

And there is my point proven...

That doesn't mean I'm not uncomfortable over Facebook's data grab, I am, but I highly doubt it's any of the dross like the above.

Your point is not proven at all?

I'm assuming you're aware of the Panoptic effect, due to your line of work?
Or is that what you're trying to sweep under the carpet by calling anyone who realises what's going on, a "nutter"?

Do you honestly not realise how panopticism and Edward Snowden are connected? He's basically the panoptic messiah. People must be pretty brain-dead (like they want us to be) to not realise what is trying to be achieved here.

Zuck: Yeah so if you ever need info about anyone at Harvard

Zuck: Just ask.

Zuck: I have over 4,000 emails, pictures, addresses, SNS

[Redacted Friend's Name]: What? How'd you manage that one?

Zuck: People just submitted it.

Zuck: I don't know why.

Zuck: They "trust me"

Zuck: Dumb ****s.

I just don't think that the government currently have that level of cooperation from that range of companies.

Massive thread bump...

... So for background, I'm a 29 year old, male, no medical issues. Facebook knows the first two of those factually.

This afternoon, I was mentioning my drinking habits to a friend and, in passing, commented that my hangovers oddly seem to have me having aching lower legs. I know, really weird. We talked this over for a few minutes and I described it feeling like a lack of circulation... a few jokes were made at my expense... Which were warranted :o

During this conversation, my phone was on the table.

Anyway, this evening I was browsing faffbook when, to my amazement / concern, I was greeted with a 'suggested advert' for "circulation improving" socks!!! Wut! Time to get my tin foil hat out again because that is just creepy. I have never used my phone to search for socks or anything related to this issue... And who the hell would target sock adverts at 29 year old males?!?

I would have taken a screenshot but I immediately deleted the app! :o

Isn't it just along the old stories of how women were saying Google knew they were pregnant before them.

The reality is that the false positives and false negatives don't say anything whilst the few positives are just amazed.

I've been meaning to close my account completely. I mean totally and completely, is there a special link where i can do this?

I imagine if they started searching their symptoms without realising Google would put it together quite quickly.

Probably but... Come on... My example is extremely weird :p

Has anyone else has a suggested advert for circulation improving socks recently?

Last year I conducted a highly scientific* trial of deliberately talking about a fictional holiday to a place I've never researched in front of my phone.

I was disappointed as I never saw any ads for it :(

Yeah lol :(. I googled to see if pins and needles in shins after running was normal.

Now Google thinks I'm 25 going on 80 :D.

It's not really tinfoil stuff.

It's hardly surprising governments would be interested in platforms where people share their secrets and images.

Why bother drag netting when the fish will come to you? :D

The only reason I have a Facebook account is for those things that require you to 'like' something in order to grab some free DLC or enter a competition. Beyond that I don't use it. It isn't even in my real name either.
