*** The Official Playstation 4 (PS4) Thread ***

Played The Last of Us Remastered and Assassins Creed: Syndicate today. Both really good games, though so far AS seems a lot easier than I was expecting. The combat isn't really that challenging.

Just had a thought, the game that would have been absolutely perfect for the VR launch is P.T.

That would take horror game to the next level, shame that got scraped. Can you imagine even playing the demo alone with that!

There were rumours that this was going to be the first game released for VR before it got scrapped.

That would have been intense.

Are the PS4 controllers the same way as Xbox One's where it's wireless normally but can you can plug in and use the charger cable all the time? Or do I NEED a charging dock?

I might "pop out just for milk.." soon :P

Nah, just use a mobile phone charger to charge a ds4. No need for additional cost on charging docks.

Hey if you're in the market for a ps4, game has cracking deal with a 500gb console, nathen drake collection, ac syndicate. Watch dogs and three months now tv movies subscription..

Sell the games if you don't want them.... And get the games you of want, hopefully profit.

I've used one of those Anker battery to charge my DS4 while playing, or use the USB port from my amp or the usb hub on my computer, pretty much any USB ports works.

Warning to anyone that fake dual shock 4's are out now on a certain auction site(I should have known from the price but I didn't think they existed yet) , I just got done , just hope I get a refund.
It looks identical just no sticker on the back, and the sticks behave differently (and snap to the 4 directions up down left right).

Got a weird situation. I have a 10m hdmi lead that connects my PC to my TV now I wanted to put my ps4 beside my pc and use that cable to run it to the tv and leave my ps3 set up for films etc which means I can use my ps4 on the monitor while the other half watches tv. Now the problem is that the cable works with my pc but not with my PS4. Does anyone have any explanation for that?

This might be a stupid question, but I thought PS4 games got installed to the hard drive? But when I put in my first game, it just let me play it right away, though it did want me to do a download to the latest version.

Some games let you play whilst they install. It will install the rest in the background. You might find you start the game and then have to wait for it to install.

In the settings you can view hard drive usage.

Most games install incredibly quick, compared to a Xbox One for example.

Others let you play while they install.

Seeing as I have no sky TV or even use terrestrial TV as I have no sky box, I use now TV and Amazon prime. My prime expired end of October so leaves me now TV for entertainment..

I don't watch a lot of TV series. And seeing as there are no where to rent movies nowadays and its something like £10 for a movie ticket, I thought. Well why not rented a movie from psn.

Now, it was £4.49 so I sorta scoffed at the price. But hey I wanted to watch Mad Max fury road. The quality of the HD stream and the audio was superb. Amazon prime or now tv have never offered me such a crisp or gorgeous audio track , my home cinema was treated I can tell you..

Shame the prices for psn mvoies are so expensive. Still , I enjoyed the movie and made a change to watch something recent as now tv movies are mostly 6 - 12 months old or even older.

Wonder if anyone else has rented psn movies?

The 'doubleshock'? Or are they advertised as genuine? Do stay away from these folk, they are awful. The moulding is good but the rest of it is horrendous.

Is it a specific version of HDMI? Though from what I've read, HDMI 2.0 cables are backwards compatible. I use all of my consoles on a monitor via HDMI no problem, I've even hooked them up to a HDMI splitter (since the monitor only has 1 HDMI port). Is the monitor nearby the PS4? I've used the cable the PS4 comes with, which works just fine. Where exactly is the PS4 connecting to? The monitor or the TV? Apologies if I've misread the post.

PS4 controllers are great. even though I'm not using my PS4 console itself, I've bought a second controller and I often use it on PC no problem. The battery life leaves a little to be desired (especially after using a WiiU Pro controller), but I just stick it on my phone charger when I'm not using it. If my cable was longer, I could also still play at the same time. And with the DS4 windows app, it gets even better. The touchpad can even be used like a mouse! Handy for navigating menus and whatnot.

Two codes for ma unwanted birthday theme if anyone wants it.
