Windows 10 for Phone

Haven't tried that build. An earlier 10 build went on my 520 ok though.

I went back to 8.1 one though. I found 10 was too buggy and slow on the 520. That was about 2 months ago though.
 
Just ordered a 640XL, seems an absolute bargain going by the reviews this phone has had. Got it for £159.

Jumping ship from a Moto G 5". Good phone but i want to move to 4G, bigger screen and im really liking windows 10, also looks like the camera may be a plus.

Been looking at the 640xl myself. Currently using a Lumia 920 but battery life is starting to dwindle a bit now. The 640xl looks like a nice well priced alternative.
 
Is windows 10 mobile still in preview stage or have they started rolling it out now? I have a Lumia 1020 thats starting to get slow so I want to format it and install windows 10.

Before I decide to go sim only or get a new phone
 
Battery life has taken a bit of a kicking I am now noticing, usually on charge at work but now finding I have to charge it when at home as well otherwise theres a chance my alarm wont go off in a morning lol..
 
How are people getting on with the OS now. I have heard that it is maturing and could easily be used day-today..?

My Lumia 650 is on 10.0.10581.
Battery life seems to have improved over the last build i was using. OS feels a bit snappier but still a few bugs regards email notifications. Sometimes the tiles on the homepage take a while to refresh and the bluetooth connection to Blue&Me in the Alfa is hit and miss. Again, not as bad as last build.
 
OK, thanks. I just took possession of a second hand Lumia 640 and I will be looking to install Windows 10 this afternoon if work WiFi behaves.

Would the slow or fast release schedule be recommended?
 
Any chance anyone knows if three still block data traffic from windows 10 phones?

I dont think they have really used the slow/fast one phones I would just go fast as it wont be your daily driver and might need to reset it.

Basically last time I went on windows 10 after about 10minutes they decide that the data is from a PC and block it as "tethering" (I dont have tethering allowance).
Same thing happened when WP8 came out. I had to drop back to win 8.1 because of it.
 
Never had any issue, but I have unlimited tethering.

And if that was the case probably wont be updated till release. Which is meant to be 3rd of December in Uk.
 
I'm on three and have been on Windows 10 since the first version and have never had my data blocked or come up as tethering.
 
Well I installed Win 10 on a Lumia 640 yesterday. Appearance wise, it is certainly a move forward from 8.1. However, I have not had that much of a chance to play around with it properly.

I haven't really noticed any performance improvements over my Samsung ATIV S running 8.1, but again that may be because of my lack of time with the OS. Then again it may be because the 640 is not a massive step forward in performance.
