Horizon zero dawn looks to be a great game. I'm tempted to get another ps4 just to play through that.

Is it a specific version of HDMI? Though from what I've read, HDMI 2.0 cables are backwards compatible. I use all of my consoles on a monitor via HDMI no problem, I've even hooked them up to a HDMI splitter (since the monitor only has 1 HDMI port). Is the monitor nearby the PS4? I've used the cable the PS4 comes with, which works just fine. Where exactly is the PS4 connecting to? The monitor or the TV? Apologies if I've misread the post.

Im trying to connect it to my tv (technically av receiver which may make a difference I guess) using a long hdmi cable that my pc currently uses fine for that purpose. Currently its using a smaller cable and is nearer my receiver where my ps3 normally sits. Now i want to put the PS3 back there and take the PS4 console and move it beside my PC giving me the freedom to use the long cable so I can game on the TV and use a smaller one for the monitor aswell depending what the situation is. Everything works except the long cable+ps4 combo. Its strange given that it works perfectly with the PC. Im not sure what version of HDMI the cable is and it doesnt seem to have it written on it. First time ive encountered a bug where a cable works fine with one device but not another

Does the PS3 work if you connect it to the long HDMI cable?

You do crack me up. Just buy one, put in storage when bored with it. Take it out again when you fancy a ps4. You'll save money time and effort that way..

Ha I know I know. Best thing is I get them at discount and always make something when I sell them on. This time I'll Do that.

I'll check tonight. Didn't bother checking that actually as it doesn't help if it does work but it may shed some light on the situation

EDIT: Ok its not exactly no help but its less than ideal

Reason I ask is that the PS3/PS4 both have HDCP applied to the HDMI signal which the PC probably doesn't. So if the PS3 does work it rules that out as the issue, and suggests is probably some strange incompatibility with that cable and the PS4.

You can turn that off in the ps4 settings and ive tried that.

The 'doubleshock'? Or are they advertised as genuine? Do stay away from these folk, they are awful. The moulding is good but the rest of it is horrendous.

Was advertised as "For PS4 Playstation 4 Wireless DualShock Controller Joypad Game Pad Dual Shock 4"

There still on there now 52 sold , not even cheap either, i only got it as i had a 20 percent voucher and didnt know what to buy.
Funny thing is when i connected it up to my laptop and tried it out with xpadder the triggers only kick in at 40 percent pressure , my legit ones kick in at 1 percent, also the sticks are wierd and like to snap in at the up down left right points, also noticed it hums loudly when charging.

Tried the ps3 and it doesn't work either

I decided to calibrate my TV last night... And I got my games to look super colourful and bright. Not washed out, dash for ps4 looked excellent... Game mode, no notable controller lag.

Only to then realise when I watched a movie via PlayStation movies or now TV they were a tad too colourful.

Got round it by using two profiles, one for gaming and one for movies, but sadly my Sony W800 series TV doesn't seem to auto detect a 24hz movie signal and auto switch colour profiles. Annoying, is there any setting in a ps4 that helps with this?

Hmm, sounds like a new one, have you had any luck with a refund?

are sony planning a pro pad like mS?

i have the elite console and the pad imo is a waste of time

the paddles are where your hand sits naturally to grip the controller so your gripping the paddles every time.

i've been in firefights in halo and under pressure tend to grip the controller harder and accidentally press the paddle switching weapons.

i think 4 paddles is too much. i've yet to give 2 paddles a try (the 2 smaller ones) but i think that could work.

i think scuf's controllers are possibly designed slightly differently so this issue doesn't occur

Still in the messaging phase, it looks identical apart from no ps sign on the middle button and no sticker on the back , dunno how they do it.

I will never buy one again cheap unless from a legit seller.

This happened to me with an Xbox 360 controller. I purchased from eBay. I honesty thought it was a genuine Microsoft Xbox 360 pad, it wasn't. Lesson learnt was to never use eBay for gamepads again which is harsh but sadly don't trust ebay. Which is a shame for genuinely honest traders.....
