**** The Official Google Nexus 6P Thread ****

For those who upgraded from a Nexus 5 how are they finding the 6P? How good is the battery life in comparison to it? Also how does the camera hold up for family snaps and video?

The LG G4 is such good value at the moment but for some reason want stock Android as had it since my move to Android with the Nexus 5.

Will be able to give some comparisons to my G4 later today hopefully :)

Is the EIS in the 6P really that poor? Would it not be good for chasing after the toddler and capturing what they are doing?

It's not awful but introduces a weird oscillating effect that makes me feel sea sick, other phones do a better job.

Compared to the nexus 5 its a 2 handed job for typing anything. Too early to compare battery life and not checked the camera yet but if the n5 was your sweet spot for phone size I'd go for the n5x instead tbh. The 6p is a damn big phone.

Hmm not the best vs what I've produced on my Note4 with OIS obviously. You just know the next Nexus with the 820 SoC will have it onboard.

Just ignore EIS until Google update the camera app, which they said they will to fix it.

Probably but that's a year away so will buy one then if its essential. The next nexus will probably be missing some feature that that next years super premium phones have, there will always be tradeoffs. That perfect phone everyone is waiting for is never coming, nothing is going to be perfect for everyone.

That is one thing I am worried about. I like the Nexus 5 size. I will try one at lunchtime if they have it in CPW.

The battery is a hell of a lot better then the N5 for me 19 hours off charge a day and by the time it goes back on charge I have about 50% left the N5 would be near enough flat.

Mine just went from Pending to Processing. Still with the same delivery window tho
PROCESSING
NOVEMBER 16 – 18, 2015

What is EIS?

That sounds good. My Nexus 5 usually needs charging a few times in the day to get me through otherwise have to be conservative on how I use it to get through a full day.

What is your on screen stats for those 19 hours?

It's one of those things where you'll likely only think there's a problem if you start reading about it, but if you carry on using your phone as normal you won't know exists and will therefore be perfectly happy.

Hmm, not sure I would agree, I think I noticed my video's wobbling about right away. Comparisons just made it even more evident.

As has been said, Google are looking to improve it with a software update though.

Electronic (Software) Image Stabilization, It's whats used when a phones camera doesn't have Optical (mechanical) Image stabilization.

Heh, thanks guys

Fine, I should have said it's one of those things which, unless you find a problem by yourself, you should ignore
