Yes, but it appears that is what it has come to now.
And food banks have become a staple of the DWP.

they should pay for the adaption, not the whole entire car.
This really. I don't see how a broken leg is an automatic entitlement to get a car.

Surely we should be supporting people like this, not making their life more difficult in order to save a few thousand pounds?
we've got a finite budget and it needs to be targeted
Some brutal people in this thread!
Oh yes, and forcing a girl with one leg to hobble to a bus stop is totally the most important place to start.
if she fits the criteria then sure - perhaps someone bodged the assessment
My wife is disabled( has a rare muscle wasting disease) and has to spend 1 day every 2 weeks in hospital getting pumped full of a Massive amount of intrevinus drugs to stop her muscles wasting away and being confined to a wheelchair, and I fully expect her to be rejected for the higher rate of pip when her name is called forward to transfer over from DLA, the reason being she can walk for more than the specified distance (10m unaided) set down by the DWP, her condition will not go away and is incurable, it hasn't changed in the last 20 years but the goalposts have(she has bad days when she can't get out of bed but them days are not taken into account, they judge the person on how they appear Infront of atos on the day) I understand people abuse the system and they are the ones that need targeting but they seem to be able to slip through the net and play the system when the people that genuinely need it are the ones targeted first.
Sucks doesn't it, I expect my lifetime DLA award to be withdrawn when they get around to forcing me to take the PIP test, not because I've grown back some limbs or gotten over a genetic defect but because the score sheets been re-written by incompetent politicians >.>

Did you really expect sympathy from the tory loving forum?
The tories have it in for the disabled, poor and elderly.
End of the day the Tories are gunna Tory.
