Very impressed with WD RMA

Had to RMA two DOA WD Blacks and the turnaround was insane, they received them yesterday and replacements were sent out today.

WD truly are great.

Shame you had 2 DOA drives though. We order in 20-30 a month and have only RMA'd a handful in the past year I think.

Out of curiousity, why didn't you return them to the retailer?
 
glad to see you got a good turn around on the HDDs.

shame both where DOA though, did you get them from OCUK or else where?
 
Shame you're likely to get re-certified drives in return - but having said that the one I have is going strong :)
 
Bad news, one of the replacement drives is reporting bad sectors. :(

Not happy about having pay to return yet another bad drive. Can i get WD to send me a pre-paid label?

R.I.P 3 day old RMA replacement drive. This was done after a 30 minute surface test. :(

If it still works the same, you can have WD send the replacement in advance (places a holding charge on your credit card), and then put the old drive in the packaging they send. Don't think it includes shipping though?

I'm sure that they're doing everything needed in order for this to be resolved.

Been over 24 hours since my last reply from CS, still awaiting a reply from the team is was apparently escalated to.
 
Rainforest are awful for hard drives, their packaging leaves a lot to be desired. I buy many things from there, and am a prime member, but would never touch them for HDDs.

The last time I bought HDDs from them it was 2x4TB WD Blacks, both fulfilled by them but not sold by them...

One of them was a non-UK serial number and had no Warranty coverage by WD. A nightmare to resolve!
 
Hi again. I don't know if you've received word from the CS yet, but since I've learned that one of my colleagues (Captain_WD) has been in touch with you about the same issue in a thread in linustechtips, he'll contact you in the same thread about the case number and try to help you with the issue. Just follow his advice and hopefully everything will be OK soon.

Once again, sorry that you're having such problems with the RMA procedure.
