Just ordered this Jaguar XE

This is something I would have went for but I would have had to get the car build and was going to take 4 months and I just did not want to wait that long so decided to just do a few extras myself. I am going to a graphics company tomorrow and hopefully they can wrap the side grills in black and front grill although if not I could just purchase the side grills from jaguar in gloss black but they are pricey and I do not want to spend too much money on the car as I only have a 3 years lease on it.

I wouldn't think wrapping the chrome would be that difficult. Will be interesting to see how the black/white contrast works on the XE :)

How's leasing stand if you're modifying the car? I didn't think you could touch them once the default car is given to you? Just thought now... while reading last coupel fo posts..

I'm guessing this is on a lease/PCP? Have you asked the finance company if they mind you doing these things to their car?

The XE is a great looking car but white with tints just looks bleh :( I don't understand our nation's obsession with white cars. I really don't.

That lovely red one at the top of this page with the nice wheels looks much more fitting IMHO.

I don't think our nation has an obsession with white cars tbh. Travel to the middle East (UAE or somewhere) and you still see true mania. 2 thirds of the cars are white and Japanese.

White cars looks good in hot countries. They look terrible in the UK.

JLR's most popular 'colour' is white, which is pretty depressing.

I would put it back to how I bought it when I hand it back, although I have spoke to a few people who lease cars and they said they have done stuff like paint and colour code stuff and they dont batter an eyelid when returning it as long as the condition of the car meets there standards as it just goes to auction anyway but some others may work different I dont know.

Where did you get your windows tinted? Was it Jaguar or did you go to a third party? How much did you pay?

I want to get mine done although not as dark, just the back ones for the sun protection for my son when he's in the back, and it would look better than putting a naff Disney sun screen on like I have too now :p

Surely removing those tints is going to be a pain?

Didn't realise it was leased, makes these mods... very odd. Why would you modify what is basically a hire car

Perhaps I should get some new wheels for my car from Avis next year...

How many white diesel XEs with sporty body kits do you think have actually been purchased by private individuals?

So I have one of these

This is a 240HP Petrol (yes, the engine is made by Ford to a Jaguar spec, nothing else in the car is Ford-sourced) Turbo, Portfolio in Ultimate Black. Goes like stink.

Smart, like it. Just a shame it has to say 2.0d on the back ;)

I watched the video of the XE S and the sound and power of that thing is unbelievable! I do a few miles so I thought diesel would have been more fuel efficient but the 240bhp turbo petrol would have been nice :D
