I bought the first but never really got into it.. More to do so that it had some gfx issues like no MSAA and bad screen tearing. So never gave it a chance

As you know how it is, once you've had the game for a while, it becomes even harder to find the time to get into it.

However now i have a gsync / 144hz panel, i managed to get the game to run looking nice and smooth. After blowing the cobwebs off it.

But should i even try, or just dive in and get Borderlands 2. How much better is 2 vs 1 and does 1 need to be played before getting 2 ?

Personally I've only ever enjoyed Borderlands whilst playing with friends. If you have someone to play with you then it can be really fun but I find it a bit boring when you play solo

I loved BL2, started my second play through recently and enjoying it SOLO but i do admit if you can find a friend or two that would like todo a play through its much more fun.

Its on hold while i play FO4 though :)

I think what put me off the second one so much was a) the inability to blow enemy heads off and b) the lack of weapon type specialisation, I really liked the fact that you gained bonuses for specific weapon types the more you used them in the first.

Great game.

I didn't get into the first but then I didn't spend much time on it. Number 2 was very accessible and pick up and play.

I remember when first encountering the robots. When the first few flew over you and landed. Sounds and movements borrowed from old classic sci-fi movies. It was such a buzz.

Good with mates, crap with randoms who run off and do what they want.

Preferred solo however.

It really isn't, far worse, yes.
Just want to point out that yours is a *very* minority opinion.

Most people will say that Borderlands 2 is definitively the better game. It improves on the first in just about every way bar a couple minor things(namely the quality of the humor).

I think it's absolutely worth playing, yea. I know some people dont like the Borderlands formula, but lots do, myself included. It is popular and a big success as an IP for a reason.

The sheer wealth of content you get even before you consider the excellent DLC is pretty staggering, too. AND it's all highly replayable, as any good loot game is.

And just noticed the GOTY edition is £8 that's a bargain with all that dlc :o
It really is.

The DLC is must-have. Tiny Tina DLC expansion is, to me, the best DLC you'll find in any game, period.

op, just to add given that you have a 144Hz panel, get yourself a pair of Nvidia 3D vision glasses and play it in proper 3D, it really adds an extra dimension to the game.

Oh my i have had a 144hz monitor for ages didn't even realise Nvidia 3D was tied to that. Will have to try get a kit depending how expensive they are. Cheers for the tip :)
